Controller - Accounting Manager

The Controller is a key player in a community banking setting. This goes beyond bean-counting and numbers crunching. This is a role within a true community-focused institution and would be ideal for a servant-leader type person. This position holds potential for growth into CFO within the near future! The full controller job description is subject to change based on the expertise of the candidate. This role will oversee different accounting and operations duties.

Controller Requirements

  • 2 years in the accounting industry, ideally within banking
  • Accounting degree
  • Banking operations experience
  • Investments understanding
  • Auditing background/experience
  • Leadership experience or aspirations

Controller Responsibilities

  • Leadership/mentor-ship responsibilities
  • Prepare, determine, and approve all types of payments
  • Review accounts - general ledger, balance sheets, call reports, journal entries
  • Key voice in ALCO meetings
  • ACH Department functions
  • Oversee/develop the implementation of different systems and activities
  • Answer questions and troubleshoot issues daily
