Job Description:
Position Overview: We are seeking an experienced Controller to lead our accounting departmentThis role will oversee a team of four and collaborate with all team leaders across the companyThe Controller will report directly to the Vice President and Treasurer. Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead our annual financial audit, quarterly reviews, and monthly closing processes
  • Prepare monthly financial statements in accordance with GAAP and prepare our quarterly consolidated reporting package (CRP) based on tight deadlines set forth by our parent company.
  • Oversee invoicing, journal entries, cash receipts, accounts payable, fixed assets and maintain the general ledger
  • File and review quarterly corporate tax returns as well as monthly sales tax returns for several states
  • Prepare and maintain sales reports by sales area and by salesman to be distributed to our sales team on a monthly basis
  • Review balance sheet and expense analysis
  • Manage the annual JSOX audit and prepare the consolidated reporting package for our parent company
  • Assist in the preparation of annual budget and midyear forecasts
  • Assist and support department leaders by identifying and implementing process improvements in order to enhance overall operating efficiencies and effectiveness
  • Ensure compliance with all financial regulations and standards
  • Provide financial insights and recommendations to support business decisions
Qualifications:
  • Minimum of 3 to 5 years of experience as a Controller or Assistant Controller
  • Experience reporting to a parent company is a plus
  • CPA certification is a plus but not mandatory
  • Strong knowledge of accounting principles and financial regulations
  • Must be highly analytical, motivated and committed to meeting tight deadlines
  • Excellent leadership, communication and team management skills
  • Proficiency in financial software and Microsoft Office Suite

Compensation:
