Job Description:
Laxxon Medical, a leading pharmatechnology company, is seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Controller with extensive experience to join our finance team. As a Controller, you will provide support in carrying out daily accounting tasks and ensuring the accuracy of financial records.   • Preparation and review of financial statements and reports; familiarity with US GAAP & IFRS
  • Process and reconcile accounts payable and accounts receivable
  • Create month-end and year-end reporting, including consolidation of US and Germany financials
  • Conduct regular audits to ensure compliance with month end closing
  • Budgeting and forecasting activities
  • Ad hoc financial analysis and projects as needed
  • Experience w/both public and private companies
  • Prepare accurate and timely monthly, quarterly and annual financial statements in accordance with GAAP, to meet Company's external reporting obligations and internal reporting requests.
  • Design and manage the monthly closing process adequate to ensure timely and accurate financial statements.
  • Design, implement and maintain a system of internal controls to ensure safeguarding of Company assets and accurate financial statements.
  • Plan and manage quarterly and yearly audit/tax processes including serving as principal contact with independent accountants.
  • Responsible for the capitalization table & equity management.
  • Provide accounting guidance with respect to business decisions - e.g., lease accounting, revenue recognition etc.
  • Assist with the design of standard operating procedures and SOX processes.
  • Ensure timely and accurate completion of Company's tax filings for Federal, State, and Payroll tax obligations.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration or equivalent experience
  • CPA/CMA preferred
  • Experience in Life Sciences industry preferred
  • 7+ years of experience in accounting or finance
  • Experience with financial reporting at a publicly traded company.
  • Strong knowledge of GAAP and ability to identify new GAAP matters and assess impact on the business (familiarity with IFRS is preferred but not required)
  • Knowledge of advanced accounting principles and procedures
  • Demonstrated ability to draft comprehensive financial statements, including footnotes.
  • Demonstrated ability to organize an efficient and effective monthly closing process.
  • Demonstrated ability to motivate and influence people without directly reporting authority.
  • Self-starter who understands the business and seeks to proactively bring accounting and financial expertise to business decisions.
  • Effective communicator able to explain accounting implications of business decisions and who can provide insight to senior management about financial results.
  • Team player able to garner the respect of direct reports, peers, and superiors throughout the organization.
  • Proficient in using financial software and MS Excel - ERP systems (Sage, SAP, Netsuite, or Oracle), QBO, Carta, EquityEdge,
