Ava's Hospitality Group |Ava's Hospitality Group| Easton, MD |Easton, MD| Full-time |Full-time| $80,000 - $90,000 a year |$80,000 - $90,000 a year| Ava's Hospitality Group is currently seeking a Controller to oversee all financial aspects of the organization and lead our Accounting & Finance team. AHG is a thriving restaurant group that includes the following concepts: Ava's Pizzeria & Wine Bar, Theo's Steaks, Sides & Spirits, Hammy's Burgers & Shakes, and High Spot. With seven restaurants currently in Maryland and Delaware, we look forward to the growth and financial profitability of our most-recognized concepts. The Controller will play an integral role on our leadership team, and report directly to the CEO. He/She will be expected to work out of our corporate office in Easton, MD five days per week (Monday-Friday). The ideal candidate for this position will hold a bachelor's and/or master's degree in accounting, finance or business administration, with a minimum of three years experience overseeing the financial health of a company. He/She should possess strong business acumen and an understanding of accounting concepts, financial standards, and regulatory requirements of a business to maintain compliance. The individual in this role should additionally have the ability to analyze and think strategically, with excellent communication and leadership skills. Responsibilities: Prepare weekly and periodic financial reports and analytics to review with the CEO; make recommendations based on your findings to improve the profitability of the business Manage accounts payable and payroll by collaborating with and delegating work to the two individuals directly reporting to the Controller Oversee all financial transactions of the business; question, analyze, and make changes where needed for maximum profitability Develop financial strategies to maintain the fiscal health of AHG and grow the business Collaborate with each department to evaluate their needs and create annual budgets that support all areas of the business Work with department heads and restaurant General Managers to communicate new processes when implemented and provide financial training Conduct internal audits to ensure AHG is in compliance with legal and ethical business practices Master the accounting/finance software and systems currently utilized by AHG Work with the CEO to develop plans for the growth of AHG, providing all financial information and background needed to grow the business Benefits: 80 hours Paid Vacation accrued per calendar year 40 hours Paid Sick Leave accrued per calendar year Medical, Dental, Vision Insurance 401K with Company Match Schedule Flexibility.
