Description
The Accounting Controller will be responsible for managing the accounting department, ensuring accurate and timely financial reporting, and maintaining robust internal controls. This role requires a detail-oriented and strategic thinker who can lead a team and collaborate with other departments to support the company's financial goals.
Requirements
After one year as our Controller, you will know you were successful if you
* Oversaw all accounting operations for MCC.
* Prepared and presented accurate and timely financial statements in accordance with GAAP.
* Coordinated and lead the monthly, quarterly and annual close process for MCC, ensure timely completion, coordinate with parent accounting teams, and liaise with external auditors as needed.
* Developed and implemented internal accounting controls and ensure compliance with financial regulations.
* Analyzed financial data and provide insights to senior management to support strategic decision-making.
* Supervised and mentored accounting staff, providing guidance and professional development opportunities.
* Assisted in budgeting and forecasting activities.
* In conjunction with corporate accounting policy team, assisted in transaction analysis and development of accounting policies for MCC transactions.
* Lead investment valuation, allowance for credit loss and reserve process.
* Assisted in drafting of disclosures for financial reporting
* Continuously improved accounting processes and work to maximize utilization of systems to enhance efficiency, accuracy and detail of financial information available to senior management.
What we are looking for...
* Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; CPA or CMA certification preferred.
* Minimum of 10 years of experience in accounting.
* Previous supervisory or managerial responsibility.
* Strong knowledge of GAAP and financial reporting standards.
* Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite.
* Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
* Strong leadership and team management abilities.
* Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
* High attention to detail and accuracy.
* Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
