The Controller will oversee and manage all accounting activities within the company. This role is crucial for ensuring accurate financial reporting, compliance with accounting standards, and strategic financial planning. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in accounting, particularly within the manufacturing sector, and will demonstrate strong leadership, analytical skills, and a proactive approach to financial management.
Key Responsibilities:
- Financial Reporting: Ensure accurate and timely preparation of financial statements, including monthly, quarterly, and annual reports. Review and analyze financial results and trends, providing insights and recommendations to senior management.
- Budgeting and Forecasting: Develop and manage the company's budget and financial forecasts. Work closely with department heads to create realistic financial plans and ensure alignment with overall business goals.
- Compliance and Controls: Maintain internal controls and ensure compliance with accounting standards (GAAP/IFRS) and regulatory requirements. Oversee audits and coordinate with external auditors.
- Accounting Operations: Supervise daily accounting operations, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger, and payroll. Ensure accuracy and efficiency in all accounting processes.
- Financial Analysis: Conduct detailed financial analysis to support strategic decision-making. Monitor key performance indicators and provide actionable insights to drive operational improvements.
- Team Management: Lead, mentor, and develop the accounting team. Foster a collaborative and high-performance work environment. Provide training and support to ensure team members meet professional and organizational standards.
- Process Improvement: Identify and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency and effectiveness in accounting practices. Stay updated with industry trends and technological advancements.
- Strategic Planning: Contribute to the company's strategic planning by providing financial insights and recommendations. Collaborate with senior management to support business growth and profitability.
Qualifications:
- Education: Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- Experience: Minimum of 5+ years of progressive accounting experience, with at least 3-5 years in a managerial or director-level role. Experience in the manufacturing industry is strongly preferred.
- Strong knowledge of accounting principles, practices, and regulations.
- Proficiency in accounting software and ERP systems
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
- Proven ability to lead and manage a team effectively.
