Together we can reinforce a culture of respect, integrity, accountability, and transparency. POSITION SUMMARY:Manage and oversee Project HOPE's accounting operations and financial systems. Provides timely and accurate actual financial data, including grant financial data to HOPE decision makers (including, but not limited to: CEO, Executive Vice President, Global Health, CFAO, Chief Development & Communications Officer, Other Senior Managers) and to sponsoring agencies. Ensures the accuracy, integrity, appropriate communication, and supporting documentation for financial information.PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Oversee and manage all of HOPE's accounting, grant accounting function, purchasing operations, and supervises their associated staff.
- This includes supporting the operational and programmatic teams through team orientation and management of Global Operations Accounting, Compliance, Financial Accounting, Payroll, Time Accounting, Travel Expense Reporting, Purchasing, and Accounts Payable.
- Responsible for the budgeting, risk management and financial analysis teams and functions.
- Responsible for the tactical supervision of grant accounting financial compliance for grants, contracts and cooperative agreements, adherence to donor requirements including USAID.
- Responsible, under the direction of the CFAO for liaison with HOPE's independent accountants in the execution of the annual audits including timely and accurate Uniform Guidance ,2 CFR 200 audits.
- Responsible for monthly bookclose by the 6th workday each month and variance analyses, and Month-end financials. .
- Responsible for monthly P&L and Cash Forecast
- Responsible for maintenance of a reconciled balance sheet and all associated accounts
- Appropriate revenue recognition and tracking of grants funding from all sources
- Partners with the CFAO for Annual tax filings 990 & 990T.
- Ensures HOPE's internal accounting and administrative controls adhere to Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP), as well as HOPE's internal policies and procedures.
- Responsible for accurate systems to track project, segment, business unit, and global financial processes.
- Partners with leadership and stays ahead of changing needs for financial information in the Field and in Headquarters.
- Partner with the Office of Contracts and Grants to support CFAO in Compliance initiatives.
- Offer guidance and financial supervision to finance leaders stationed in field offices.Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including finance, contracts, legal, and operations, to support business objectives and resolve financial issues.
- Lead the development and implementation of internal controls and policies to safeguard company assets and mitigate financial risks.
- Manages HOPE's investment portfolio under the direction of the CFAO.
- Performs Benchmarking Analysis and Best Practice filings - ex. Charity Navigator and Better Business Bureau
- Directs the continuous improvement efforts of Financial operations including initiating and implementing computer system upgrades and enhancements
- Other duties as assigned
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
- Minimum 10 years supervisory experience in a finance management capacity for a not-for-profit organization.
- Knowledge and experience with U.S. Government Contracts and Grants, especially 2 CFR 200 and Federal Acquisition Regulations
- Thorough knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP), Generally Accepted Auditing Standards (GAAS), FASB 116 and 117.
- Existing CPA certification or Master's degree in Finance.
- Previous experience with an international non-governmental organization a plus.
- USAID experience required.
- NetSuite experience a plus.

Salary range starting at $175,000 USD per year based on candidates residing in the US. Compensation for the role is dependent on several factors including a candidate's location, qualifications, skills, and experience.
