Job Description:The Controller prepares consolidated financial statements with supporting schedules and financial analyses of operations for the guidance of management. Responsible for overseeing and preparing various financial activities and reports, including reconciliations, ACH collections and postings, and performs all AR and AP processes in Laundry One's ERP system. This position plays a crucial role in ensuring the accuracy and integrity of our financial data while providing valuable insights to support strategic decision-making. Responsible for the company financial policies, accounting practices, the maintenance of fiscal records and the preparation of financial reports.
Position Responsibilities:- Functional: Responsible for various aspects of the accounts payable, accounts receivable, and collection process. Generates invoices and apply payments, reconcile accounts and accounts payable to process AP invoices and payment, reconcile any discrepancies and issues.
- Financial Analysis: Lead special projects with minimal direction and supervision. Conduct ad-hoc financial analysis to support decision-making and strategic initiatives. Evaluate cash flow, financial performance, trends, and metrics to provide insights and recommendations to management. Provide general support for other Dexter Laundry Holdings, Inc. business units as needed.
- Month-End and Year-End Close: Leads month-end financial closing process, makes journal entries, and generates reports to assist in financial statement reporting.
- Budgeting & Planning: Develop budgets, forecasts, P&L statements, Balance sheets, and Statements of Cash Flows to determine financial condition of the company and establish cash requirements.
- Compliance and Regulatory Reporting: Prepare and file various regulatory reports and sales and property tax filings as needed.
- Process Improvement: Identify opportunities to streamline accounting processes and improve efficiency. Implement best practices and internal controls to enhance the accuracy and effectiveness of financial operations.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Collaborate with other departments, including Finance, Operations, and Human Resources, to support business objectives and initiatives.
Essential education, licenses, certifications, skills and experience:- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; CPA designation preferred.
- 5+ years of progressive experience in accounting or finance roles, with a focus on financial reporting and analysis.
- Thorough understanding of GAAP and financial accounting principles.
- Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., SAP, Oracle, QuickBooks) and advanced Excel skills.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with keen attention to detail.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across departments.
- Proven ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
