Job Description:
ResponsibilitiesH.W. Kaufman Group is seeking a Controller to manage the real estate component of the business.This individual will report directly into the V.P. of Real Estate and assist with all financial matters involving real estate of commercial buildings in the U.S. and as a tenant in U.S., Canada, London, U.K. and Europe.Responsibilities:Review, brief and administer Leases within accounting softwareAdminister accounts receivable and payable functionsServe as the liaison between the accounting and construction departments on the build out of tenant spacesResearch open items and correct any outstanding issuesParticipate in process improvement initiatives and other projects, as assignedResponsible for preparing financial reporting packagesPreparation of monthly journal entries, bank account reconciliations, accruals, and inter-company transactionsCreate and administer annual budget processResponsible for year-end reconciliation of operating expenses between Landlord and Tenant for both owned and leased assetsResponsible for preparation of year-end tax work papers and submissions to tax accountantsResponsible for quarterly financial analysis of budget variancesResponsible for cash flow projections for the real estate portfolioPrepare / Approve monthly rent roll for leased spacesPrepare quarterly and annual financial submissions to lendersQualificationsBachelor's Degree in Accounting or related fieldWorking knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP) and experience in preparation of periodic financial reporting packagesExperience in preparation of periodic journal entries, balance sheet reconciliations, accruals, and intercompany transactionsProven ability to meet deadlines, detail-orientatedReal Estate Accounting and/or Yardi experience is preferred but not requiredStrong Excel skillsStrong written communication skillsBenefits:Competitive base compensationEmployer paid continuing education courses and designations via access to Kaufman InstituteHealth and welfare benefits including medical, vision and dental401K with employer matchPaid vacation, sick time and holidaysAccess to Kaufman Wellness ProgramAbout Our CompanyThe H.W.
