Our team provides qualified Accounting and Finance professionals on a temporary and permanent basis across a broad range of industries. GHJs relationship with our Global Advisory and Accounting Network provides the resources needed to better understand clients needs, attract a higher caliber of candidates and assess candidate potential. We are seeking a Controller to join a reputable professional services company with our client in Bakersfield. As the Controller, you will play a vital role in overseeing and managing the accounting and financial operations of the company including general accounting, reporting, property accounting, internal controls, budgetary controls, and more. Responsibilities: Manage and coordinate month-end and year-end financial close processes, ensuring timely and accurate preparation of financial statements Maintain the firms chart of accounts and ensure all financial records are kept in accordance with GAAP Support tax planning and ensure compliance with federal, state, and local tax filings Lead the development of the firms annual budget and manage monthly analyses, identifying variances and providing explanations Oversee cost accounting procedures and the preparation of statistical and regular reports to monitor financial performance. Supervise the firms 401k program, ensuring compliance with regulations, managing annual audits, and facilitating quarterly committee meetings. Conduct analyses of economic, business, and financial trends to evaluate their impact on the firms policies and operations. Contribute to the firms strategic planning efforts Oversee software upgrades and assess the firms financial and accounting system needs.
