Job Description:
Summary: The Controller is responsible for managing all aspects of the company's financial operations, including accounting, financial reporting, budget management, and internal controls. This role requires strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work collaboratively across departments. The controller will play a critical role in developing financial strategies and ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements. Key Responsibilities: Financial Reporting & Analysis: Prepare, review, and analyze monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements Ensure timely and accurate reporting of financial information to management and stakeholders Provide insights and recommendations based on financial data to support business decisions Accounting Management: Oversee day-to-day accounting operations, including accounts payable/receivable, general ledger, payroll and tax compliance Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records in compliance with GAAP or IFRS standards Supervise and mentor the accounting team, ensuring efficiency and accuracy in processes Budgeting & Forecasting: Develop and manage annual budgets and forecasts, working closely with department heads Monitor budget performance and variances, providing regular updates to management Identify opportunities for cost savings and operational improvements Internal Controls & Compliance: Establish and maintain internal control policies and procedures to safeguard company assets Ensure compliance with local, state and federal regulations, including tax laws and financial reporting requirements Coordinate with external auditors during audits and provide necessary documentation and support Cash Flow Management: Monitor cash flow, accounts, and other financial tractions to ensure adequate liquidity for operations Manage and optimize working capital and capital expenditures Develop strategies for managing debt and investment portfolios Strategic Planning & Support: Assist the executive team in financial planning, strategic initiatives and business development Provide financial insights and recommendations for growth, risk management, and operational efficiency Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in accounting, Finance, or related field; CPA or CMA (Certified Management Accountant) preferred 7+ years of progressive accounting experience, with a minimum of 3 years in a leadership role Strong knowledge of GAAP, IFRS and financial Regulations Proficiency with accounting software (i.e., QuickBooks, SAP) and MS Excel Exceptional analytical problem -solving and organizational skills Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to collaborate cross-functionally Detail-oriented and able to work under pressure to meet deadlines
