Title: Controller

Salary: $175,000 to $200,000, Excellent Bonus Potential

Location: Westchester, NY

A highly successful and growing manufacturer is seeking to hire a hands-on and self-motivated Controller to oversee the financial operations for one of its key business segments. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills, require minimal supervision, and demonstrate the ability to create structure within our finance team. This role involves managing all aspects of accounting, including financial accounting close and reporting, treasury functions, cost accounting, inventory management, and utilizing ERP systems effectively. Additionally, the successful candidate will be instrumental in driving operational efficiency and creating financial projections to support the success of a dynamic and entrepreneurial enterprise.

Responsibilities:

  • Responsibilities for the Controller will include managing the financial close process for multiple entities. Prepare financial statements in compliance with GAAP while managing a team.
  • Maintaining a strong internal controls framework to safeguard company assets.
  • Managing cash flow forecasting, banking relationships, and treasury operations.
  • Implementing and managing cost accounting processes to support manufacturing operations.
  • Utilizing Business Central ERP to streamline financial processes and reporting.
  • Leading, mentoring, and developing a high-performing team.
  • Partnering with senior leadership to provide actionable insights.
  • Supporting long-term planning and budgeting processes.
  • Leading the annual external audit. Participate in ad hoc projects as needed.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance, (CPA or CMA preferred).
  • 10-20 plus years of experience in accounting and managing multiple entities desired.
  • Expertise in cost accounting, manufacturing operations, and inventory management.
  • Strong understanding of GAAP and financial reporting required.
  • Go-getter possessing the ability to work independently while leading a team. Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong Excel skills and proficiency with Business Central ERP highly desired.
