We are seeking a highly experienced and strategic Controller to join our telecommunications construction company. As the Controller, you will be responsible for overseeing the financial operations of the organization and providing accurate and timely financial information to support informed decision-making.
What You'll Do
- Financial Management: Manage all aspects of the company's financial operations, including financial planning, budgeting, forecasting, and reporting. Develop and implement financial strategies to drive profitability, improve cash flow, and support business growth.
- Financial Reporting: Prepare and analyze financial statements, ensuring accuracy and compliance with accounting principles and regulatory requirements. Present financial reports to senior management, providing insights and recommendations for improving financial performance.
- Budgeting and Forecasting: Lead the annual budgeting and forecasting process, working closely with department heads to develop and monitor budgets. Provide guidance and support to ensure budgets align with strategic objectives and financial targets.
- Internal Controls: Establish and maintain effective internal controls to safeguard company assets and ensure compliance with applicable laws, regulations, and industry standards. Monitor and evaluate internal control systems, and implement improvements as necessary to enhance financial processes.
- Cash Management: Oversee cash flow planning and ensure availability of funds for ongoing operations and capital investments. Implement effective treasury management strategies to optimize cash flow and minimize financial risk.
- Cost Analysis and Efficiency: Conduct regular cost analysis and identify opportunities for cost reduction and process improvement. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop and implement strategies to enhance operational efficiency and control expenses.
- Audit and Compliance: Coordinate and manage internal and external audits, ensuring adherence to audit schedules and timely resolution of audit findings. Stay updated on changes in accounting regulations and ensure compliance with financial reporting requirements.
- Team Leadership: Provide leadership and guidance to the finance team, fostering a collaborative and high-performing work environment. Mentor and develop team members, providing ongoing training and professional development opportunities.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (Master's degree preferred)
- CPA required
- Proven experience as a Controller or similar role in the construction or telecommunications industry (ideally 10 years experience at Controller level)
- Comprehensive knowledge of accounting principles, financial planning, and analysis
- Strong understanding of financial reporting standards and regulatory compliance
- Proficiency in accounting software and MS Office Suite
- Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills
- Excellent leadership and team management abilities
- Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to handle multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
