Job Summary: The Controller will be responsible for the complex's (consisting of processing plant and live operations) financial management, including overseeing all accounting functions, preparing financial reports, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements, and providing strategic financial guidance to senior management. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in accounting, exceptional analytical skills, and the ability to lead and develop an accounting team.Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare and present weekly, monthly and annual financial statements. - Ensure accuracy and integrity of financial data. - Coordinate and oversee the annual audit process with external auditors.
- Manage all aspects of accounting operations, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger, cost accounting and payroll. - Develop, implement, and maintain financial controls and accounting policies. - Oversee the preparation of financial metrics reporting and analysis.
- Compliance and Risk Management:
- Ensure compliance with all applicable financial regulations and accounting standards - Monitor and enforce internal controls to safeguard company assets. - Stay updated on changes in accounting regulations and best practices.
- Coordinate the preparation and filing of tax returns. -Support preparation of income tax return and comply with other taxing authority requirements.
- Provide financial analysis and insights to support strategic decision-making. - Collaborate with senior management to develop financial strategies and business plans. - Assist in financial modeling and scenario analysis for potential business opportunities.
- Lead, mentor, and develop the accounting team. - Foster a culture of continuous improvement within the finance department. - Manage relationships with other Managers, Supervisors and employees at the complex.Qualifications:- Bachelor's degree in accounting, Finance, or related field.- Minimum of 7-10 years of progressive accounting experience, with at least 3-5 years in a managerial role.- Strong knowledge of other accounting principles.- Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.- Strong leadership abilities and experience in team management.- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.- Experience in the industry specific to poultry- Experience with ERP systems like SAP, Oracle, MS Dynamics 365 or NetSuite.- Familiarity with financial modeling and advanced Excel functions.Physical Demands:The physical and work environment characteristics described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job and are not all inclusive.
