OPERATIONS
Operations partners with all parts of the firm to provide banking, securities, and asset management services to clients around the world. In addition, Operations support a variety of controls designed to safeguard the firm and our client's assets. For every new product launched and every trade executed, it is Operations that develops and manages the processes and controls that enable business flow.
OUR IMPACT
The Balance Sheet Substantiation team supports the Firmwide Balance Sheet Substantiation Program (BSS) for the Operations Division. The team is responsible for coordinating the quarterly BSS process across Operations. In doing so the team works closely with Operations account owners globally, to ensure the quality and consistency of reviews and compliance with the firmwide program. In this role, the team helps to ensure all accounts are assigned to a correct owner, consolidates and submits substantiation results at the firmwide level, provides business unit level reporting, develops and administers BSS related training and support and helps highlight and track issues.
The Books and Records Change Management (Projects) team, has a global footprint and is responsible for helping to launch new businesses, and review and test changes introduced to the firm's core books and records. The team supports a wide range of functions including, requirements building, gap analysis, posting documentation, user acceptance testing, and issue resolution.

The Books and Records and Balance Sheet Substantiation teams are seeking a self-driven and motivated individual with an interest to learn about a variety of operational workflows and broaden their understanding of the different businesses supported within the firm. This position involves a high degree of communication with senior members across the division and requires strong analytical skills to interpret data and design solutions. As such, we are looking for a candidate who has existing Business Intelligence skills or a keen interest in developing these skills to help us drive workflow and processing improvements across our functions. The candidate will have the opportunity to support both Books & Records projects and the Balance Sheet Substantiation process and will develop a comprehensive understanding of the firm's various ledgers, processing systems, accounting flows, and controls.
HOW YOU WILL FULFILL YOUR POTENTIAL
Principal Responsibilities:
* Coordinate the quarterly Balance Sheet Substantiation process for Operations; Communicate to Senior Operations MDs and Account Owners throughout the lifecycle of BSS
* Analyze BSS results and summarize key components for Operations Committee RCSA review quarterly
* Evaluate, identify and consult businesses on workflows, areas of risk, level of team knowledge and advise and track solutions to be implemented by working closely with the BSS Admin team in Controllers and based on feedback from the Peer Review internal audit program
* Structure and deliver certification requirements and training program
* Participate in various projects/initiatives within the team aimed at promoting and improving efficiencies and control.
Other Responsibilities:
* Develop business requirements documents and translate those requirements into project deliverable and measures of success
* Assist in the development and execution of test plans; coordinate testing, signoff, and user training associated with new system flows
* Monitor and report on the progress of ongoing technical development work for the firm's ledger systems
* Assist with the coordination and review of New Product Memos
* Monitor the progress of ongoing development work and help drive strategic programs
* Provide specialist level training on key processes, systems and products
* Assist with the coordination and setup of new entities on the firm's books and records systems.
* Assist with adhoc exception resolution, information requests, and production support.
* Collaborate with a global team to leverage knowledge and share best practices
* Develop strong and effective relationships across user groups, and technology teams
SKILLS & EXPERIENCE WE'RE LOOKING FOR
* Bachelor's degree
* Strong team-player, excellent communication and organizational skills
* Ability to work independently, to take initiative and to be proactive; exhibit analytical and creative thinking in problem solving
* Proactive client service orientation to the business and to internal clients
* Ability to analyze and improve existing process
* Proven analytical skills, problem solving ability, and a control mentality paired with meticulous attention to detail
* Ability to manage multiple tasks and deliverables in a high pressure environment and work collaboratively in a team environment.
* Aptitude for building relationships and ability to communicate complex issues to a wide array of internal clients with differing levels of product experience
* Proficient use of Microsoft Office Suite to include Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint
* Experience with or interested in working with business intelligence tools (e.g. Alteryx, Tableau) preferred

Salary Range
The expected base salary for this Jersey City, New Jersey, United States-based position is $85000-$140000. In addition, you may be eligible for a discretionary bonus if you are an active employee as of fiscal year-end.
