Up to 10% travel anticipated.What you will do:People Management:
- Manage direct reports, ensuring they are effectively allocated across various project teams.
- Mentor and supervise team members, fostering a collaborative and innovative work environment.
- Ensure that direct reports have the necessary tools, training, and support to succeed in their roles.
- Monitor and evaluate the performance of direct reports, providing feedback and supporting professional development.Technical Contribution:
- Develop controller models for system-level control algorithms and logic that provide superior performance, enhance reliability, and diagnostics.
- Identify opportunities to enhance model-based design capabilities, enabling acceleration of value delivery to internal and external customers.
- Work with software development teams to integrate model-generated software into application software.
- Adhere to model development standards and processes.
- Stay updated with the latest advancements in control systems and apply relevant knowledge to ongoing projects.Strategic Planning:
- Assist in planning and road mapping activities for embedded controller development.
- Provide input on project timelines, resource allocation, and technology strategies.
- Support aligning project goals with organizational objectives.
- Contribute to the development of long-term strategies for control systems innovation and continuous improvement.What you will bring:
- Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or Computer Science required. Other technical degrees may be considered with relevant work experience. Master's Degree in Control Theory is strongly preferred.
- At least 7 years' experience in controls, electronics, systems, or software engineering experience is required.
- At least 2 years' experience leadership, either direct or indirect required.
- Experience with model-based design processes and modeling & simulation of complex systems is required.
- Understanding of control system design. Classical control knowledge required (PID control, linear control, digital filtering). Advanced control knowledge preferred (modern control theory, model predictive control, non-linear control, adaptive control, fuzzy logic).
- Understanding of optimization techniques is preferred.
- Advanced proficiency with Simulink and Stateflow is required. Proficiency in Azure DevOps is preferred.
- Experience in automating processes is preferred.
- Knowledge in refrigeration, vapor compression, or thermodynamics/fluid dynamics is preferred.
- Knowledge in compressors, engines, or power electronics is preferred.Compensation:Base Pay Range: $114,000 - 150,000.Total compensation for this role will include a commission/incentive plan.
