Job SummaryThe Controls Engineer will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining control systems for CNC machinery. This includes working with Fanuc, Siemens, and Mitsubishi PLCs, tuning servo motors, and utilizing CAD/CAM software. The role requires international travel and offers a flexible work schedule with half-day Fridays.Key Responsibilities
- Control Systems Design and Maintenance: Develop and maintain control systems using Fanuc ladder, Siemens, and Mitsubishi PLCs. Utilize Macro-B language for programming.
- Tune and optimize servo motors to ensure precise and efficient operation of CNC routers and hybrid mills.
- Use Alphacam and Mastercam for CAD/CAM tasks. Employ SolidWorks and Fusion 360 for CAD design.
- Retrofit existing machines to enhance performance and integrate new technologies.
- Provide technical support and troubleshooting for control systems, both on-site and remotely.
- Maintain detailed documentation of control system designs, modifications, and maintenance activities.
- Work closely with other engineers, technicians, and clients to ensure successful project completion.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Control Systems Engineering, or a related field (preferred)
- Proven experience in control systems engineering, specifically with Fanuc, Siemens, and Mitsubishi ladder logic PLCs.
- Proficiency in Fanuc ladder programming and Macro-B language.
- Strong understanding of CNC routers and hybrid mills.
- Experience with servo motor tuning.
- Proficiency in CAD/CAM software (Alphacam, Mastercam) and CAD design (SolidWorks, Fusion 360).
- Ability to retrofit and upgrade machinery.
- Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
