Job Description:DAC is looking for controls engineers to join the team in creating cutting edge robotic automation systems that accelerate the manufacturing processes of our customers. The ideal candidate will be eager, able to handle multiple responsibilities across many projects, and ready to hit the ground running on day one. This role entails a broad spectrum of challenges spread across the entire electrical & controls aspect of an industrial robotic automation system. Specifying components, offline simulation, code creation, schematics, system testing, and supporting existing systems are just some of the opportunities available.This position has a large potential for lateral and vertical movement within the company. To stand out, include why you would be a good fit for the position in your cover letter.Key Responsibilities:* Implement, develop, and debug software on automation systems. This includes PLC, robot, HMI, machine vision, and motion control.* Design of controls systems including developing and maintaining electrical schematics, I/O list, and selection of controls components such as sensors, safety devices, vision systems, PLCs, HMIs, motors & drives, etc.* Identify controls strategies that facilitate streamlined implementation and operation of the final system.* Work with component vendors and purchasing department to specify and order components. Fill out BOM to order components.* Work with the mechanical team to provide input on how to solve complex challenges throughout the development of a system.* Work with end user to develop system operation requirements and support of existing equipment.* Performs onsite commissioning, startup, and verification of controls as well end-user training as needed. 10-15% travel requiredQualifications* Associate degree or equivalent plus at least 1+ year experience in a technical field with electrical influence.* Basic knowledge of electronic circuitry and wiring schematics.* Excellent written and verbal communication skills.* Able to multi task.* Basic PLC knowledge a plus.* Knowledge of machine controls and pneumatics.Knowledge And Experience* Associate degree or at least 2 years experience in a related field.* An understanding of electronics and controls systems. This includes power disconnects, circuit protection, motor controls, sensors, PLCs, measurement sensors, etc.* Ability to understand and create electrical schematics from scratch. Familiarity with AutoCAD or a similar drafting software.* Knowledge in the programming of PLCs and control of associated equipment.* Strong hands-on capability in the setup and implementation of controls systems.* Experience with programming and debugging Allen Bradley, Siemens, and/or Omorn PLCs* Experience with industrial 6 axis robotics, computer programming language such as Python, machine vision, or advanced understanding of UL/NEC is a plus for this position.We offer competitive compensation and benefits.Please forward resume via email at ...@dac-us.com or fax (512) ###-####.
