SUMMARY: The Controls Engineering Technician will be responsible for assisting Controls Engineer(s) with project duties and as a resource for addressing maintenance issues.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES includes but not limited to:

  • Assist in selection and procurement of electrical components including BOM generation and maintenance.
  • Item Master generations and maintenance (MRP system).
  • Controls system panel builds.
  • Redlines and revisions of machine schematics.
  • Assist in troubleshooting and debugging new equipment.
  • Assist in execution of qualification plans.
  • Assist Production with equipment installation including training on controls systems.
  • Assist in the generation of machine manuals
  • Where applicable, trouble shoot, repair and maintenance of existing equipment.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:

  • Completion of a two year degree in a related field. And minimum of five years of related experience or training, and/or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • General knowledge of circuits, electrical components and electrical systems.
  • General knowledge of electro mechanical devices and pneumatic circuits.
  • Basic knowledge of trouble shooting electrical systems.
  • Strong computer skills in PC based applications such as MS Office, MS Project, MS Excel and Statistical Soft-ware.
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or government regulations.
  • Ability to read analyze and interpret electrical schematics.
  • Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, employees, and customers.
  • Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as exponents, logarithms and quadratic equations.
  • Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
  • Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
  • Knowledge of NEC code and NFPA79 standard is preferred.
