What you'll do:Position Overview:The Controls Technician is located in Nacogdoches, Texas. This position will be responsible for testing, repairing, troubleshooting, and programming of electronic, electrical, and mechanical plant equipment.In this function you will:• Support maintenance personnel in troubleshooting and repairs.• Support projects to install, maintain, test, and troubleshoot automated equipment• Diagnose and resolve electrical/controls problems including non-routine issues• Use Programmable Logic Controllers (PLC) including basic and ladder logic to read/write basic wiring diagrams, schematics, and blueprints to diagnosis problems• Evaluates and recommends improvements for current equipment.• Troubleshoot and repair of low voltage electrical systems (600VAC and below)Additional Qualifications/ResponsibilitiesQualifications:Required (Basic) Qualifications:• 2 years of electrical and controls system fabrication, assembly, and installation or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience which provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities• Understanding and working knowledge with the following: o PLC based control products (PLC5, PLC 500, RSLOGIX 5000/Studio)o VFD and DC Motor Controllerso NFPA 70 Electrical Code and installation of conduit, wiring, etc.o Electrical safety (Arc Flash PPE and Hazardous Locations requirements) o Electrical schematics / drawings and P&ID diagrams• Knowledge in low, medium, and high voltage troubleshooting and repair• Observes and adheres to proper lockout/tag out of equipment and systems in accordance with policies and procedures• Knowledge with using voltmeters, ohmmeters (both analog and digital), ammeters, phase rotation meter, meggers, oscilloscopes, watt meters, loop calibrators, portable non-contact thermometers• Excellent team working skills - demonstrated ability to work with operations groups, support groups, and engineering support staff• Excellent planning and organizational skills• Must be able to prioritize assignments according to business needsPreferred Qualifications:• SAP or similar maintenance/work management software experience a plus• Two-Year Associate or bachelor's degree in related field of study
