Maintains, repairs, and installs heating and air conditioning system controls, infrastructure panels, network controllers and cabling with minimal supervision. Performs basic programming of controllers and monitors climate control system. Maintains building controls and control devices toensure efficient operation of HVAC equipment to create a comfortable environment for students, faculty and staff by. Maintains and provides for the safe condition and operation of other building automation systems and devices within the scope of duties to integrate the Building Automation System (BAS) that control all facilities and environments, and lighting as needed on campus.
Works closely with key client's site Ops management and Energy Management personnel to sustain the BAS systems' integrity, maintain and repair graphic and logic issues, and provide daily monitoring of the operations of the BAS.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES / RESPONSIBILITIES:
GENERAL QUALIFICATIONS and REQUIREMENTS:
Maintenance Knowledge – The position requires basic controls networking experience for Johnson Metasys, BACnet, TCP/IP, Modbus, N2 and other applicable protocols. Associates Degree in HVAC or similar preferred or equivalent 4 years of experience with Building Automation Systems (BAS), HVAC equipment, lighting controls and associated control devices. Ability to apply proper methods, techniques, and procedures in accomplishing a wide variety of diagnostics, repairs, replacement, and related projects as may be assigned.
The position also service pneumatics and EP controllers.
Understanding of basic mathematics, calculations, blueprints, schematics, charts and symbols appropriate to the trade.
Interpersonal Skills – Must demonstrate an ability to exercise poise, tact, diplomacy and an ability to establish and maintain positive, working/professional relationships with peers, and customers.
Organizational and Prioritization Skills – Must be organized, flexible, and able to effectively prioritize in a multi-demand and constantly changing environment; able to meet multiple and sometimes conflicting deadlines without sacrificing accuracy, timeliness or professionalism.
Technology (computers/hardware/software/operating systems) – Must possess appropriate levels of proficiency with utilized software and systems and be able to learn new software/systems such as a Computerized Maintenance Management System to open/close assigned work orders. Demonstrated proficiency with Microsoft Office, Outlook, time entry software, etc.
Confidentiality and Protected Information – Must demonstrate an ability to responsibly handle sensitive and confidential information and situations, and adhere to applicable laws/statutes/policies related to access, maintenance and dissemination of information.
Safety – Must be able to work in safe manner at all times, avoiding shortcuts that have potential adverse results/risks, and must be able to comply with safety standards and best practices.
Travel and/or Schedule – May be required to travel to various campus facilities to accomplish repair, renovation, or restoration tasks as assigned and work other than normal hours to accomplish special projects where authorized.
