Summary:Provide skilled controls and PLC based programming support for Cable Plant process equipment.Essential Duties and Responsibilities: include the following. Other duties may be assigned.Motivated team player, professional and positive attitude.Responsible for maintaining cabling manufacturing equipment controls systems and components.Responsible for troubleshooting and diagnosing malfunctioning controls systems and components.Responsible for maintaining PLC based equipment, and programs.Responsible for electrical & mechanical additions or modifications as required.Design, modify and implement controls / PLC systems upgrades.Possess the ability to perform calibration and verification of industrial electrical components.Maintain exceptional housekeeping in shop and maintenance support areas.Meets objectives with minimal supervision.Education Required:Associate Degree in Industrial Controls Technology or equivalent technical work experience. Preferred:OEM trained - Allen Bradley and Seimens S7 PLC systems.ExperienceRequired: Minimum 5 years technical experience in an industrial maintenance organization or equivalent military technical maintenance experience.Full working knowledge of PLC based industrial control systems.Must be able to troubleshoot to repair - industrial electrical and mechanical equipment.Must be able to use standard measurement tools, and electronic diagnostic equipment.Must be able to read and interpret equipment tech manuals, schematics and blueprints.Preferred:Licensed Industrial TradesmanExperienced controls technician fully familiar with Allen Bradley and Seimens PLC systems.Previous maintenance / controls experience in a Fiber Optics Cabling organization.Skills/Attributes:Analytical technical problem solver.Able to learn new technical skills quickly.Results oriented and careful about documentation of work.Ability to prioritize and maintain focus in a rapidly changing environment.Willing to occasionally lead other team members and coordinate shift activities.Willing to work overtime and flexible hours, including holidays to support emergencies and planned maintenance activities.Ability to read and understand electrical wiring diagrams.Responsible for the commissioning, diagnosis, calibration, maintenance, and repair of environmental-control systems and processes, utilizing knowledge of electronics, direct digital control (DDC), airflow, hydronics, refrigeration theory, pH sensors, flow meters, electrical meters, and system control techniques.Works with the Engineering team, Production team, keep all control systems, mechanical and electromechanical field devices operating according to the basis of design.Troubleshoot electrical controls related process issues.Must be willing to work in other area when needed.Maintain safety standards of equipment and work area and perform all duties in a safe manner in accordance with the safety policies Prysmian.Able to work extended or flexible hours/shifts as required.Electrical drawings, procedures, maintenance logs.Liaison with internal and external customers.Organize and maintain the job folder, update relevant job-related information.Performs preventive maintenance, component replacement and corrections as needed.Reports on status of assigned equipment maintenance and repair activities to supervisor.Reviews and updates all equipment records for history of preventive/predictive maintenance and service activities to ensure adequate maintenance schedule is in place.Complete all job closeout documentation.Shares knowledge and develops maintenance skills in operator technicians.Participates in structured group or team activities related to line/area performance improvement autonomous maintenance, housekeeping, problem solving.Seeks and applies Continuous Improvement tools and techniques to achieve team goals.Quality Systems, Total Productive Maintenance, Problem Solving tools.Maintains work area to required housekeeping standards.PLC control systems, programming, and troubleshooting.WonderWare /RSView interface and MMI programming.Initializing and troubleshooting VFD motor drive.Set-up & initialization of monitoring & control devices.Procurement of spare components and justification for ordered spare components.Mechanical Skills and Focused Technician.Support production uptime efforts and root cause determination of downtime eventsInstrumentations and controls debuggingProven industrial experience to perform essential functions.Ensure all safety requirements of the company are implemented in accordance with rules and regulations of EHS.Must be available for emergency service 24/7 in rotation with other team members.PLC control systems, programming, integration, installation, upgrade, and troubleshooting including Rockwell, Siemens, Parker, GE, SCR troubleshooting and programming.Initializing, modification, upgrade and troubleshooting of VFD including Rockwell, Parker, Lenze, Reliance, Emerson, Vacon, ABBMust have good oral and written communication skills, and ability to follow through and carry out assignments.Exercise technical, mechanical and control system aptitude / skills in order to accurately identify root causes for machine failures or break downs and the repair accordingly.Instrumentations and controls debugging and troubleshooting.Implementation, set up, and troubleshooting of tension controls for web tension.Possess the ability to read and understand controls prints.Minimum of eight years of experience in the maintenance of complex controls systems with multiple interactions is required.Must have knowledge of how DDC, PLC, and/or other industrial control systems work to include some minor programming.Work with Thermocouples, Transducers, PLC, Motors, DriveTechnical training in electronics, instrumentation, and process controls.Supervisory Responsibilities: This position has no supervisory duties. Language Skills: Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to supplier representatives, and employees at all levels of the organization.Mathematical Skills: Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.Reasoning Ability: Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations. Ability to compare requisition and purchase order documents against web order entry screens to confirm data entry, price, quantity, and total accuracy.Social Skills: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to conduct themselves in a professional, courteous manner with suppliers and potential clients.Physical Demands: The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
