CONVENTION SALES MANAGER
Potential Markets – Government, Military Reunions and Corporate
Huntsville/Madison County Convention & Visitors Bureau
The Convention Sales Manager is responsible for the solicitation of conventions, meetings and tradeshows coming to Huntsville/Madison County. This highly visible position requires tact, diplomacy and good judgment in making decisions that will reflect on the entire organization.
Essential Duties and Experience Include:
· Strong communication, public speaking, networking, and problem-solving skills
· Solicit conventions, meetings, and tradeshows through email and phone communication
· Prepare and make presentations to prospective organizations or individuals who might consider Huntsville as a meeting site
· Plan and execute familiarization tours to acquaint meeting planners with the area
· Travel on behalf of the Bureau to “sell” and/or represent the city as needed (8-10 sales trips a year, that might include weekends and nights)
· Bachelor's degree in business, marketing or related field or two years' sales or hospitality industry experience is required
