Job Title: Convention Sales ManagerLocation: Marriott South Sioux City Riverfront, South Sioux City, NEDepartment: Sales & MarketingReports to: Director of SalesJob Summary:The Convention Sales Manager is responsible for selling and promoting the hotel's convention and event facilities, generating revenue by attracting large groups, conferences, corporate events, and conventions through both inside and outside sales initiatives. The role requires strong sales and negotiation skills, excellent customer service, and an ability to work in a fast-paced environment. The Convention Sales Manager will work closely with all departments to ensure client needs are met and that all events are executed seamlessly.Key Responsibilities:Sales & Business Development:•Develop and maintain relationships with key decision-makers in corporations, associations, and event planners.•Identify and pursue new business opportunities through proactive sales efforts, including cold calling, networking, and attending industry events.•Achieve or exceed the properties revenue goals by generating group bookings, conventions, and meetings.•Create proposals, presentations, and contracts tailored to client needs and budget.Client Relationship Management:•Serve as the primary point of contact for clients, ensuring exceptional service from initial inquiry to post-event follow-up.•Conduct site tours and presentations to prospective clients to showcase the hotel's event spaces and services.•Manage all aspects of the sales process, including negotiations, contracting, and closing deals.Event Coordination & Collaboration:•Work closely with internal teams to ensure all client requirements are clearly communicated and executed.•Attend pre-convention meetings with clients and assist in coordinating event logistics as needed.•Monitor event timelines, budgets, and service execution to ensure customer satisfaction and the successful delivery of events.Market Research & Strategy:•Conduct regular competitive analysis and market research to identify trends and opportunities.•Develop strategies to maximize revenue during high-demand periods and attract off-peak business.•Provide regular reports to management on sales activities, pipeline, and revenue forecasts.
