Job DescriptionJob Summary: Prepare, season, and cook soups, meats, vegetables, desserts, and other foodstuffs for use. You will report to the Supervisor/Manager of Nutrition.Primary Tasks:
- Prepare soup, salad, gravy, dessert, sauce and casseroles.
- Bake, roast, broil and steam meats, fish, vegetables and other foods and add seasoning to foods during mixing or cooking, according to personal judgment and experience.
- Adjust thermostat controls to regulate temperature of ovens, broilers, grills, roasters and steam kettles.
- Measure and mix ingredients according to recipe, using variety of kitchen utensils and equipment, such as blenders, mixers, grinders, slicers and tenderizers.
- Observe and test food being cooked by tasting with fork to determine that it is cooked and carve meats, portion food on serving plates, add gravies, sauces and garnish servings to fill orders.
- You will prep food to include washing, peeling, cutting, shredding, trimming and boning.
- You will maintain sanitary environment to include washing dishes, cleaning floors, emptying trash daily.
- You will rotate inventory count stock and stock food to include pick-up at the grocery store.
- Other responsibilities as assigned within scope and competency of the associate.
Physical Requirements: Medium work involves lifting no more than 30 pounds at a time with frequent lifting or carrying of objects weighing up to 30 pounds.Required Education and experience:
- A High School Diploma or GED.
- Must obtain Food Handlers License within 90 days.
