Description Royal Gorge Cross Country, Sugar Bowl's Nordic Ski area, is looking for a dynamic and motivated Cook III to plan, prepare and serve food and beverage items at Summit Cafe located at the Cross Country Center. The Cook III is also responsible for setting the menu, ordering supplies for the kitchen and ensuring inventory control. Why Sugar Bowl? Sugar Bowl Resort has been proudly independent for over 80 years and is one of the oldest ski resorts in California. Situated atop beautiful Donner Summit, Sugar Bowl has a storied past with ties to Austrian ski culture, Hollywood and Walt Disney.   • To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily
  • Serve Safe Certificate
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals
  • Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume
  • Must frequently lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds
  • Must love snow!
What you will do
  • Provide excellent customer service to customers, employees and business partners
  • Cook foodstuffs in quantities according to menu and number of persons to be served
  • Ensure kitchen facilities are in compliance with the Department of Health
  • Assist with preparation of an annual budget for the food and beverage operations
  • Plan menu taking advantage of fresh foods in season and local availability
  • Order food, and beverages, kitchen and custodial products
  • Direct activities of one or more workers who assist in preparing and serving meals
  • Wash dishes, pots and pans
  • Bake breads and pastry
  • Maintain cleanliness in Caf area
  • Assist with snow removal including shoveling and clearing snow from walkways, stairs, equipment and other areas as needed
