Longview serves people from ages 3-100+ and is committed to the well-being of mind, body, and spirit, including the values of kindness, dependability, integrity, inclusion, and accountability.Under the supervision of the Food Service Director and Dining Coordinator this position will be responsible for food preparation, production control, inventory control, kitchen safety, sanitation, equipment use/cleaning/sanitizing, food safety, menus, therapeutic diets, and risk management.Requirements
  • Follows basic recipes and/or product directions for preparing, seasoning, cooking, tasting, carving and serving soups, meats, vegetables, desserts and other foodstuffs for consumption in eating establishments.
  • Prepares foods by operating a variety of kitchen equipment to measure and mix ingredients, washing, peeling, cutting and shredding fruits and vegetables, and trimming and cutting meat, poultry or fish for culinary use.
  • Tastes products, reads menus, estimates food requirements, checks production, and keeps records to accurately plan production requirements and requisition supplies and equipment.
  • Serve safe certification/or willing to obtain.
  • Possess skills in cooking techniques, food service, food safety and sanitation.
  • Understands the importance of the various therapeutic diets and their preparation.
  • Ability to work independently and under direct supervision.
  • Ability to satisfy residents needs and desires (within facility policies/procedures).
  • Good oral and written communication skills.
  • Presents self in a highly professional manner to others and understands that honesty and ethics are essential.
  • Ability to maintain a positive attitude.
  • Ability to communicate with co-workers and other departments with professionalism and respect.
  • Maintains a professional relationship with all coworkers, vendor representatives, supervisors, managers, residents, and client representatives.
  • Basic knowledge of local, state, and federal regulations related to food, sanitation, food safety, food service, etc.
Salary Description $20.00-$22.00
