( SummaryPrepare assigned food items efficiently to include but not limited to: main entrees, vegetables, desserts and salads for patient, cafeteria, special functions and other programs.Make recommendations to the Nutrition Services and Housekeeping Manager for future patient, cafeteria and special function menus.Possession of sound knowledge of cooking, safety and sanitation principles.Responsive to the service needs of patients and families, in a manner consistent with the Avera Health standards of hospitality, stewardship, and compassion.Education/Certification/ExperienceCompletion of the Child Abuse & Dependent Adult Abuse courses for Iowa Mandatory Reporters within 90 days of employment and every three years thereafter.Healthcare or institutional cook experience preferred.High school diploma or GED equivalent preferred.Work ScheduleDay/Evening Shift; 80 hours every 2 weeks9:00 am - 5:30 pmEvery 3rd weekendEvery 3rd holidayOccasional call timePayThe hourly range for this position is listed below.
