Job SummaryChef Matthew Gilbert and his team at Medinah Country Club have created a culinary program full of amazing learning opportunities and experiences. With a strong focus on scratch cooking, artisanal techniques, locally sourced products, and innovation, this is an amazing place to grow. There are 12 food outlets on our property, providing opportunities for cooking on a restaurant line, picking vegetables from our garden, or executing a banquet for upwards of 2,000 people. Come be a part of our family and our nationally recognized culinary program!Duties/Responsibilities
- Ability to follow recipes and build sheets
- Understanding of portion control & presentations set by the Chef team
- Test prepared foods to determine if food is properly cooked & seasoned
- Prepare all food items as directed in a sanitary & timely manner
- Follow all specifications to properly set up hot and/or cold line stations
- Assist with the cleaning & organization of the kitchen, walk-in coolers & storage areas
- Maintain the cleanliness and safety of work areas
- Comply with company and departmental safety rules and regulations including the proper handling of all relevant equipment & machinery
Qualifications
- Must be a team player with a positive attitude
- 2+ years experience as a Cook in the restaurant industry
- Able to read and follow standardized recipes
- Strong knowledge of proper food handling procedures
- Must obtain Food Handler Certificate as required by the state of Illinois
- Must be authorized to work in the United States
Compensation and Benefits:Base pay range of $17-24/hrIndividual base pay depends on work location and additional factors such as experience, job-related skills, and relevant education or training. Total pay may include other forms of compensation.In addition, we offer competitive health, dental, vision insurance, 401(k) Plan after one year of service, complimentary employee meals, $50 cell phone allowance, two-week paid family leave, among other benefits offered.
