**Description**

Summary of Job: As a cook for the Food & Beverage team, you will be responsible for cooking and preparing

all food while upholding and maintaining the NYS and Six Flags food service standards.

**Essential Duties and Responsibilities:**

* Comply with all Great Escape Resort policies and procedures

* Check food to make sure of its quality and correct temperature as stated by NYS Department of Health

* Regulate temperatures of ovens, grills and other cooking equipment

* Prepare food for cooking that meets NYS Health Department as well as Six Flags requirements

* Cook food by a range of methods (i.e. baking, frying, roasting or steaming)

* Divide food into portions and make sure that the food is well presented

* Clean food preparation areas, utensils and equipment

* Store food in temperature-controlled equipment

* Cook and package batches of food, such as hamburgers and fried chicken, which are prepared to order or kept warm until sold

* Maintain sanitation, health, and safety standards in all work areas

* Operate large-volume cooking equipment such as grills, deep-fat fryers, or griddles

* Prepare specialty foods such as pizzas following specific methods that usually require short preparation time

* Verify that prepared food meets requirements for quality and quantity

**Skills and Qualifications:**

* Must be at least 18 years old

* Must be able to sit, stand, or walk for extended periods of time

* For safety purposes, the individual must be able to communicate effectively in the English language, including the ability to read, speak, and understand the English language

* Previous culinary experience preferred

* Ability to actively communicate with large groups of Guests and other co-workers within the stand

* Be available to work flexible hours at nights and on weekends within the limits of applicable Federal, State and facility labor laws and guidelines

* Must be a friendly and outgoing team player

**Other Functions****:** All other duties assigned or necessary to support the resort as a whole.
