**ABOUT THE JOB**

The Kaplan House (Manhattan) provides therapeutic and support services to adolescents ages 17-21 who are referred to us through ACS and the Juvenile Justice system. Our residents have experienced significant trauma, resulting in behavioral, emotional, and functional/developmental issues, and Kaplan House offers an extensive independent living skills program, including vocational preparation, and educational services that assists youth towards reaching independence.

The Kaplan House is currently seeking a Full Time Cook to prepare and cook meals for our residents in our Childrens Residential Group Home. The Cook will be responsible for reading and understanding measurements and cooking instruction, as well as maintaining the cleanliness of the kitchen area. Additional responsibilities include but, are not limited to:

* Preparing quantity meals

* Assistance with food delivery

* Other duties as assigned

**QUALIFICATIONS**

* Current, valid Food Handlers is required

* A High School diploma/GED is preferred

* Ability to read and write and follow oral or written instructions

* At least 12-18 months of prior experience
