Job Description:
Full Time Cook Day-Evening Shifts (11:30am - 7:30pm) New Pay rate between $18.28-24.03/hour! At our highly rated Senior Care Community located in Pittsford, NY - Cloverwood's exceptional offerings promote a passion for life, as well as personal growth and wellbeing of the whole person - in mind, body, and spirit. Cooks will prepare quality food and provide excellent service as directed by our Dining Services Director and/or Executive Chef and following all applicable federal, state, and local standards. We offer a great work-life balance with no late nights, a friendly working environment, and a professional atmosphere. Requirements for a Cloverwood Cook:
  • A high school education, or in the process of obtaining one, is required.
  • One (1) year culinary experience in a hotel, country club, restaurant, or senior living community.
  • Servsafe certification and/or Monroe County Level 1 Food Worker Certification, required.
Responsibilities for a Cloverwood Cook:
  • Review menus prior to preparation of food.
  • Prepare meals in accordance with planned menus.
  • Prepare and serve alternative menu items as needed as requested by a resident due to temporary or permanent food allergies or dietary restrictions by their personal physician.
  • Inspect special diet orders to assure that the correct diet is served to the resident.
  • Perform administrative requirements such as completing necessary forms, prep sheets, reports, daily menus, and submit to the Executive Chef/Lead Cook.
  • Ensure that all dining procedures are followed in accordance with established policies.
  • Ensure that menus are filed in accordance with established policies and procedures.
  • Develop and maintain a good working rapport with inter-department staff as well as with other departments within the community to assure that food service can be properly maintained to exceed the needs of the residents.
  • Report all hazardous conditions/equipment to the Executive Chef and/or Dining Services Director immediately.
  • Ensure that food and supplies for the next meal are readily available.
  • Assist in the inventory and storage of in-coming food, and supplies, as necessary.
  • Other duties as deemed necessary and appropriate or as directed.
  • Requires ability to relate and be respectful to a wide variety of people and provide superior customer service to all, including Residents, co-workers, vendors, family members and visitors.
  • Must report to work on time, and in proper uniform, and adhere to attendance policy.
  • Must be able to maintain a high level of confidentiality regarding information about Resident, co-workers, vendors, family members and visitors.
  • Must have reliable transportation.
