STATUS: Full-Time or Part-Time FLSA: Non-ExemptDEPARTMENT: Food & BeverageREPORTS TO: Sous ChefAGE REQUIREMENT: 18 Years or OlderWORKING HOURS: This is an hourly position. The incumbent is expected to work the necessary hours to meet the needs of a 24 hour establishment.SUMMARY: To assist in the daily production and / or cooking of all foods relating to the respective kitchen outlet.ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Follows safe food handling procedures at all times.
  • Ensures that all food served is prepared and meets set quality standards.
  • Prepares and cooks foods for respective kitchen outlets including TDR according to proper procedures.
  • Assists in completing hot and cold line functions as necessary.
  • Ensures that all kitchen preparation is completed on a timely basis and follows established recipes.
  • Works at a safe and efficient rate of speed in a fast-paced environment.
  • Stores, labels, dates and rotates all foods (FIFO).
  • Cleans and organizes workstation or stations and surrounding areas as necessary.
  • Uses kitchen equipment as instructed to ensure safety and proper care of equipment.
  • Commits to the Team R.O.C.K. Philosophy.
  • Acts as a role model and always present oneself as a credit to River Rock Casino and encourages others to do the same.
  • Meets the attendance guidelines of the job and adheres to regulatory, department and company policies and procedures.
  • Attends all required meetings and training.
  • Maintains confidentiality at all times.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
  • QUALIFICATIONS:To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and ability required.
  • Previous kitchen experience is required.
  • Minimum two (2) years cooking on a line for a medium to high volume restaurant.
  • Possesses basic knife skills and be able to operate basic kitchen equipment.
  • Must be able to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Must be able to get along with co-workers and work as a team.

  • Must present a professional appearance and in uniform at all times.
  • Must be able to maintain a high degree of confidentiality with respect to all matters pertaining to the gaming enterprise business.
  • Must be able to work competently in more than one station in at least one outlet.
  • EDUCATION:
  • High School Diploma or equivalent GED preferred.
  • LANGUAGE SKILLS:
  • Must be able to read, write, speak and understand English. Bilingual skills preferred.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills are important to the successful conduct of this position.
  • Must be able to speak with the public in a professional manner.
  • MATHEMATICAL SKILLS:
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure.
  • REASONING ABILITY:
  • Ability to proactively streamline processes for company's return on investment.
  • Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
  • Ability to interpret an extensive variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram or schedule form.
  • Ability to process detailed work and requests for information or assistance in a timely manner.
  • Ability to apply regulatory and procedure doctrine, concepts, and policy to practical situations.
  • PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
  • Must be able to be on feet for prolonged periods of time and work efficiently in an environment with extreme temperatures (hot/cold);
  • Must possess coordination and dexterity to use kitchen utensils such as knives, spatulas, food tongs, etc.
  • Must be able to operate the following kitchen equipment: stoves, grills, fryers, and other utensils when preparing food orders.
  • Must be able to lift a minimum of fifty (50) pounds.
  • Must be able to carry, pull and push the weight needed to perform the duties of the job.
  • Must be able to sit and/or stand for extended periods of time.
  • Must be able to respond to visual and aural cues.
