- Prepare and cook meals during training sessions, including breakfast, lunch, dinner, and snacks, following set recipes and nutritional guidelines.
- Set up and maintain food preparation and cooking stations, ensuring food is prepared on schedule and served at the correct temperature.
- Assist in menu planning and meal adjustments based on attendee requirements.
- Follow all food safety guidelines and keep the kitchen and equipment sanitized.
- Maintain accurate food inventory, properly store items, and track supplies needed for meal preparation.
- Manage portion control and adhere to food handling procedures to prevent contamination.
- Clean and store all kitchen equipment and utensils after each meal.
Requirements:
- At least 3 years of experience as a Cook in a military, government, or commercial dining facility.
- Knowledge of food safety standards and the ability to handle bulk food preparation.
- Ability to prepare meals for large groups and work in a fast-paced environment.
- Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds and stand for long periods.
- Must have a valid Food Handler's Certificate (State of Louisiana or equivalent).
