Overview:

To prepare, produce and present hot food items for the Sacred Rock Inn in accordance with policies, procedures and standards. Promote complete guest satisfaction through pride in workmanship. Consistently meets or exceeds standards for guest service and cleanliness. Is familiar with and complies with the Sacred Rock inn standards and philosophy in performing all key areas of accountability and other essential duties and responsibilities.

Qualifications:

Qualifications: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required. Education/Experience: High school level education; or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Equipment/Computer Expertise: Knowledge and ability to work with knives, slicer, food processor, and stove. Ability to operate general cleaning equipment such as dish machine, vacuum, plunger, etc. Language Skills: Ability to read, understand and speak English. Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization. Mathematical Skills: Ability to add and subtract two digit numbers and to multiply and divide with 10's and 100's. Ability to perform these operations using units of American money and weight measurement, volume, and distance. Reasoning Skills: Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions. Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations. Certificates/Licenses/Registrations: Serve Safe Certificate is required.

Pay range: $19.00 - $28.00 per hour

*Includes a gas benefit per shift for qualifying employees!

Responsibilities:

Key Areas of Accountability: 1. Food Production requirements Follow established restaurant guides for recipes and plating with each item to ensure consistency. AM Cook prepares breakfast menus that include baking and preparing entrees. PM Cook prepares a menu of appetizers, entrees, soups, salads and desserts. 2. Sanitation Follow Inn procedures to ensure strict compliance with local Department of Health regulations. Performs a daily inspection of work area, coolers and mechanical equipment. Continually practice clean as you go for optimum efficiency and cleanliness. 3. Minimum food standards Inspect all incoming food products to ensure they meet food specifications as outlined in restaurant manual. Monitor final product and presentation to achieve or exceed guest expectation. 4. Food production requirements Follow food production and plating guides to ensure consistency. 5. Safety and Security Performs all duties in a safe manner as outlined in the codes of safe practices learned in the Safe Serv Course. Any safety gear must be used/worn at all times. Report all accidents/injuries to supervisor and/or MOD immediately regardless of severity. Maintains safety and security of guests at all times. 6. Equipment Maintains all equipment through daily inspections. Provide a safe work environment through the proper use of all equipment and kitchen tools. 7. Communication Act as a team member and liaison between kitchen, guests and all hotel staff. 8. Key control Adheres to the Sacred Rock Inn key control policy 9. Guideposts Adheres to and promotes the Sacred Rock Inn standards.

Other Duties and Responsibilities: A. Sets up and maintains afternoon guest receptions, as needed. B. Prepares VIP amenities such as fruit baskets, champagne, etc. C. Keeps storage areas neat and organized. D. Cleans & sanitizes cooking counters and equipment. E. Restocks supply areas, as needed. F. Report all accidents/injuries to supervisor and/or MOD immediately regardless of severity. Any safety gear must be used/worn at all times. G. Assists in training new/other employees. H. Other duties, as assigned.
