MUST HAVE OPEN AVAILABILITY, INCLUDING WEEKENDS AND EVENINGS. The Line Cook at the Lakeview Dining Room is responsible for preparing high-quality food in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment. This role requires strong culinary skills, attention to detail, and a commitment to maintaining food safety and cleanliness standards. The Line Cook plays a critical role in delivering an exceptional dining experience for guests. Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Food Preparation & Cooking:
    • Prepare and cook menu items to the exact specifications of the Lakeview Dining Room's recipes and standards.
    • Work efficiently on assigned stations, ensuring orders are completed promptly and accurately.
    • Assist in the preparation of ingredients, including chopping, slicing, marinating, and portioning.
  • Quality & Presentation:
    • Ensure all dishes meet presentation standards and are served at the correct temperature.
    • Monitor food quality, ensuring freshness and consistency in every dish.
  • Kitchen Operations:
    • Maintain a clean and organized workstation throughout service.
    • Follow proper food handling, storage, and sanitation protocols to uphold health and safety standards.
    • Collaborate with the kitchen team to ensure smooth service during peak hours.
  • Teamwork & Professionalism:
    • Communicate effectively with other kitchen staff and front-of-house team members to coordinate food preparation and service.
    • Assist in daily kitchen tasks, including cleaning equipment, emptying trash, and restocking supplies.
    • Be prepared to perform additional duties as assigned by the Executive Chef or Kitchen Manager.
  • Guest Service Expectations:
    • Indirectly support the guest experience by ensuring timely, high-quality food preparation and delivery.
    • Maintain a positive and professional demeanor that reflects Shanty Creek Resorts' commitment to excellence.
    Physical Requirements:
    • Ability to stand for extended periods and work in a hot, fast-paced environment.
    • Lift and carry up to 50 pounds as needed.
    • Handle the physical demands of repetitive tasks, such as chopping, stirring, or plating.
    This role is critical to providing guests with a memorable dining experience at the Lakeview Dining Room. By combining culinary expertise with teamwork and efficiency, Line Cooks contribute significantly to the restaurant's success and reputation.
