Job DescriptionResponsible for supervision and coordination of the medical assistant personnel.Responsible for the delivery and comprehensive, preventive services. Ensures patient flow activities operate smoothly and takes corrective action as needed. Forms an open and supportive therapeutic relationship with patients in a bilingual, culturally sensitive manner. Establishes and maintains open lines of communication with internal and external contacts for an effective patient referral process. Responsible for adhering to and implementing established policies and procedures as they pertain to quality improvement, infection control, safety, etc.Responsibilities and Duties* Responsible for greeting and providing courteous assistance to all individuals entering the clinic.* Assists medical and nursing staff in the provision of both administrative duties and medical services.* Responsible for maintaining accurate and current record keeping functions.* Establishes and maintains positive interpersonal relationships and keeps line of communication open with health care team and community agencies.* Attends and participates in regular departmental, organizational and committee meetings, conferences, work shops, etc.* Responsible for the effective administration and/or management of specific wellness projects and programs as assigned.* Participates in and/or contributes to community wellness projects and initiatives.* Assists with departmental support functions.* Performs other duties as assigned.Required Skills* Work ExperienceFive years work experience in a private health care setting.* License/Registration/CertificationCertificate of Completion from a Medical Assistant program or related field.* Skills* Ability to work in a pilot program setting.* Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships.* Ability to exercise good judgment in unusual or stressful situations.* Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing.* Ability to plan and organize community events promoting health promotion/disease prevention.* Ability to work effectively with local, state and national organizations.* Ability to represent La Fe in public functions, presentations, organizations, etc.* Ability to relate well to persons of all ages and cultures.* Basic laboratory skills required.* Ability to demonstrate the knowledge and skills necessary toprovide care appropriate to the age of the patients served.* Knowledge of the principles of growth and development over the life span.* Ability to identify and categorize each patient's age-specific grouping of needs, such as those for infant, adolescent or geriatric patients.Required Education* EducationHigh School Diploma or equivalent.Desired ExperienceBenefits:* Health insurance* Dental insurance* Vision insurance* Supplemental insurance* Retirement plan* Paid time off* Company paid life insurance coverage
