Examples of Duties Provides the management and supervision to custodial staff; including training in proper housekeeping techniques, chemical usage, and proper floor care. May assist with custodial duties as needed, evaluates staff performance utilizing an objective auditing/inspection tool. Utilizes management techniques to ensure custodial staff is productive and efficient in their area cleaning and performance. Facilitates the reporting of building maintenance issues as required.Maintains daily work schedules and coordinates routine custodial activities in assigned areas. Conducts a formal Inspection of each custodian bi-weekly and monitors the daily work of the staff to ensure cleaning standards are met. Evaluates work load and assignments to ensure an efficient work flow. Develops and implements a system of accountabilities for staff. Ensures the cleaning of all buildings necessary to support summer activities. Collaborates with supervisor to establish priorities and planning for special services and other non-routine custodial activities. Attends weekly event meetings to assure that the proper staffing is allocated for each event. Assures maintenance work orders are in place for set up and teardown. Assists in the coordination of the campus-wide recycling program. Maintain regular customer contact soliciting feedback on the performance of staff and ensuring the custodial staff are following a positive standard of behavior.Coordinates work assignments based on complaints and/or requests for special custodial services. Demonstrated customer service skills at all levels. Maintains, dispenses and orders custodial supplies, materials, and equipment. Maintains supply room in an orderly manner. Manages and oversees outside contractors and services.Interviews potential employees, prepares and submits employee records such as timesheets, evaluations, disciplinary actions, etc. able to document department actions and organizes the records for easy retrieval. Must be able to analyze and make recommendations based on circumstances, unknown information, variables and shifting priorities.Other duties as assigned.Minimum Qualifications Master's degree in an appropriate area of specialization; or Bachelor's of science degree in an appropriate area of specialization and two years of custodial experience; and valid state of Florida driver's license. Preferred Qualifications Three-five years experience in managing custodial departments and staff in an educational or commercial setting; and 10-15 years of supervisory experience. Familiar with the selection and use of custodial products for chemical, papers, and equipment. Bilingual - English as a first and Spanish as a second language.
