Once a summary page appears, hover your mouse over the orange Action button for a list of possible approval step options.Position Information Position Title Coordinator, Family and Parent Relations Job Summary The Coordinator of Family and Parent Relations is a strategic and impactful role that contributes to the holistic development of students and the overall success of Tuskegee University.As a key member of the Student Affairs leadership team, the inaugural the Coordinator of Family and Parent Relations at Tuskegee University is a pivotal role that actively supports the academic mission and priorities of the institution by fostering strong connections with parents, families, and other supporters of students from orientation through commencement.This position is designed to enhance the overall student experience by developing and implementing compelling programming that enables supporters to effectively contribute to their students' success, retention, progression, and graduation.The incumbent coordinates and facilitates seamless communication and internal and external programming for all parents of Tuskegee University students.The Coordinator of Family and Parent Relations shall oversee and coordinate the annual Parents' Weekend, President's Essay Contest and will manage the parents/family web portal.Essential Job Duties Relationship Development: Cultivate and nurture relationships with parents and families of Tuskegee University students. Serve as a primary point of contact to address inquiries, provide information, and offer support.Programming and Engagement: Design and execute impactful programming to engage parents and supports, ensuring their active involvement in the university community. Collaborate with relevant departments to organize events that align with the institution's vision and mission.Philanthropic Engagement: Collaborate with the Division of University Advancement to engage parents and families in philanthropic activities supporting Tuskegee University. Oversee the Parent & Family Advisory Council (PFAC) to leverage their insights and contributions.Alignment with University Values: Exercise independent judgment to ensure that all programs and initiatives align with the vision, mission, and purpose of Tuskegee University. Uphold the core values of the Division of Student Affairs, Anticipation, Affection, Connection, Direction, Protection and Perfection , emphasizing the value of Connection. Communication Coordination: Facilitate seamless communication between the university, students, and parents. Manage the parents/family web portal as a central hub for information, updates, and resources. Designs, plans, and executes Parent and Family focused programming (i.e., Annual Town Hall, Information Sessions, and Webinars). Works with the Chief Operating Officer/Vice President for Student Affairs to create assessment tool(s) to measure the effectiveness of the Parent and Family Programs on an annual basis.Event Management: Take charge of organizing and coordinating annual events such as Parents' Weekend and the President's Essay Contest. Ensure these events contribute positively to the overall experience of parents and families connected to Tuskegee University. Trains and supervises student workers assigned to Parent and Family Programs. Stays current on best practices in higher education and student development in the management of Parent and Family Programs through participation in professional associations including Association of Higher Education Parent/Family Program Professionals (AHEPP). Manages data entry, contact lists, and calendars for the office.Qualifications (Education, Experience and Specialized Training) Bachelor's degree in a relevant field; Master's degree preferred.Demonstrated experience in relationship management and program development.Knowledge of higher education and an understanding of the unique needs and concerns of parents and families.Strong communication and interpersonal skills.Ability to work collaboratively with various university departments and stakeholders.Physical DemandsSkills and Attributes Able to develop relationships with campus and community stakeholders able to handle multiple tasks or projects at one time meeting assigned deadlines.Keen understanding of the role parents and families, as well as other supporters, play in students' college success.Commitment to and understanding of programs, initiatives, and factors involved in increasing students' retention, progression, and graduation.Proficient with basic computer applications and programs associated with the position, or able to quickly learn software, particularly including Campus labs and social media platforms.Highly skilled at project management and presentation skills.Excellent initiative, teamwork, independent judgment, organization, and communication (verbal and written as well as exemplary interpersonal and customer service skills, particularly related to listening, problem-solving, and conflict resolution.Strong attention to detail and follows up skills.Strong customer service skills and phone and e-mail etiquette.Posting Detail Information Posting Number S613 Will this position required travel?
