Job DescriptionThe Kelce College of Business at Pittsburg State University is accepting applications for a Coordinator for Entrepreneurship Programs to support the missions of the Kelce College of Business (KCOB), the Business and Economic Research Center (BERC), and the Division of Economic Development and Community Engagement (EDCE) by producing, managing, delivering, and assessing instructional and outreach programs focused on developing and enhancing entrepreneurial knowledge and skills. The coordinator also teaches credit-bearing courses for the KCOB.Duties and Responsibilities50% Conduct and Coordinate Educational Programs in Entrepreneurship (Essential)Provide educational programs that develop and enhance entrepreneurial talent in support of community and regional economic development across Pittsburg State University's primary service area. Specific duties include:
  • Organize, produce, and conduct classes, workshops, seminars, and conferences that develop, support, and enhance entrepreneurial knowledge and skills for those living in Pittsburg State University's primary service area. This work involves:
  • Identifying unmet needs for entrepreneurship and innovation training
  • Developing appropriate training opportunities and curricula for target audiences
  • Scheduling programs and venue selection
  • Overseeing the development of program budgets with the goal of full-cost recovery
  • Promoting, recruiting, and enrolling program participants
  • Delivering high-value impactful programs
  • Assessment and reporting of program outcomes
  • Provide targeted instructional programming for constituents of The Foundry at Block 22.
  • Develop and produce programs utilizing the Makerspace at Block 22.
  • Develop and produce programs specifically targeted for Pittsburg State University students living in downtown university housing.
  • Cooperate with the academic units of Pittsburg State University to develop and deliver programs that support and enhance their curricular offerings.
  • Identify potential sponsors and secure funding for special programs and projects where appropriate.
  • Provide advice and counsel for BERC and EDCE professional personnel for entrepreneurial initiatives.
50% Professorial and other Duties as Assigned (Essential)
  • Regularly teach undergraduate and graduate courses in entrepreneurship for the Kelce College of Business. Annual course load and class assignments to be determined by the Dean of the Kelce College of Business in consultation with the Coordinator and the Kelce Faculty Chair depending upon the number of outside projects that are awarded.
  • Maintain an AACSB Faculty Qualification commensurate with academic preparation and experience.
  • Manage and supervise graduate assistants, and student workers as assigned.
  • Serve as sponsor for a student entrepreneurship organization and conduct other normal professorial duties, including service on committees and student mentoring, as assigned.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Education and ExperienceRequired Education and Experience - Time of Hire
  • Master's degree in entrepreneurship, business, or closely-related field
  • Demonstrated experience of interpersonal skills in a professional setting
Preferred Education and Experience -
  • Doctorate degree in entrepreneurship, business, or closely-related field
  • Successful personal entrepreneurial experiences
  • Entrepreneurship, business, or closely-related professional certifications
  • 1 year teaching experience in a higher education setting
  • 1 year experience in supervising student workers or graduate assistants
