Job Summary:

kNOwMORE is a drama-based human trafficking prevention program that is geared towards middle and high school youth. The Coordinator for kNOwMORE serves on the kNOwMORE leadership team consisting of the Director of Operations and the kNOwMORE Lead Facilitator. The Coordinator is responsible for the logistics and communication required to book schools, build and schedule a performance team in partnership with kNOwMORE staff, and the back end tracking, reporting, and purchasing. This role is crucial in ensuring the effectiveness and impact of the kNOwMORE program.

Salary: Pay range $23.41 - $26.00 per hour

Internal Classification: Career Track - Support; Job Level - 4

Location: PLNU Point Loma Campus. Responsibilities will also be performed within the broader San Diego Region.

Job Description:

Role Objectives:

  • Serve as the primary contact for kNOwMORE with schools and organizations.
  • Coordinate the creation and scheduling of the kNOwMORE performance team.
  • Accurately track data, budgets, communication, and other necessary information and communication to ensure kNOwMORE's program goals and impact are achieved.

Role Responsibilities:

  • kNOwMORE Program Implementation (40%)

    • Lead contact with school personnel (email, phone, etc.). Ensuring effective scheduling of schools. Serving as day of contact and support for the kNOwMORE team and the school/organization we are partnering with. Additionally perform appropriate post-performance follow up with kNOwMORE team and schools.
    • Partner with the Lead Facilitators, Director of Operations, and any additional support staff/consultants to ensure kNOwMORE bookings and rehearsals have appropriate staffing/scheduling.
    • Ensure the performance team has all necessary information and equipment to ensure successful program implementation (perform site visits, transport equipment, etc.).
  • kNOwMORE Administration (40%)

    • Support the recruitment and selection of kNOwMORE teaching artists and facilitators, through communication and scheduling.
    • Track the kNOwMORE budget and expenses in coordination with the Director of Operations and kNOwMORE Lead Facilitator. Serve as primary purchaser for kNOwMORE (printing, equipment, supplies, etc.).
    • Ensure efficient record keeping, reporting and evaluation processes to measure program effectiveness and impact (timesheets, invoicing, MOUs, survey responses, etc.).
  • Center for Justice and Reconciliation (20%)

    • Assist with event planning and coordination to support the efforts of other CJR programs and initiatives.

Essential Qualifications:

  • Education/Experience: Associates Degree or comparable education and/or professional work experience.
  • Skills, Abilities, Knowledge, and Understanding:
    • Ability to engage and communicate (interpersonally, verbally, written, small groups) with a wide range of individuals and groups from different perspectives and backgrounds.
    • Proven skills in administration, coordination, and project support for meeting organization goals (budgets/financials, operations, strategy, alignment, etc.). Proven attention to detail and accuracy in tracking/reporting.
    • Strong and warm interpersonal and customer service skills including tact, diplomacy and flexibility.
    • Proficiency in creating, interpreting, organizing, and presenting information (utilizing databases, spreadsheets, presentation tools).
    • Excellent organizational, administrative, and time-management skills with a systematic approach, including accuracy and attention to detail.
    • Self-motivated, with the ability to prioritize multiple tasks and keep abreast of changing schedules and developments. Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
    • Proficiency in using office software (e.g., Microsoft Office Suite, Google Workspace).
    • Ability to travel to various school locations as required.
    • Experience working with schools or youth programs is a plus.
    • Experience working within higher education or non-profit setting(s) a plus.
  • An understanding of and interest and/or experience in community engagement and development is a plus.
  • Bilingual in English/Spanish is a plus.
  • Evidence of Christian commitment and active church involvement. In addition, staff agree to live in agreement with PLNU's Community Life Covenant.

Physical Requirements:

The work is primarily sedentary and may require sitting for extended periods of time. Use of computer equipment: computer keyboard, mouse, and monitor. Ability to read documents, email and other correspondence, and reports on paper and computer monitor. Hearing and speaking to communicate effectively with others in person and by phone. Ability to stand, stoop, push, pull, and move up to 30 lbs throughout the day.
