Job Description:
Job Summary:
The role of the Coordinator for Student Programming is grounded in the collaborative implementation of a vibrant co-curricular experience that reflects the mission and core values of Our Lady of the Lake University. Under the guidance and supervision of the Director of the Center for Student Involvement, this position oversees and advises the Saints Production Board and our Fraternity and Sorority Life. The coordinator is also responsible for the oversight and programmatic efforts of all CSI event collaborations and support of student organizations.
Essential Function:
* Advises the Saints Production Board (SPB), guiding executive leaders and chairs. Ensures compliance with university policies, fosters relationships with academic and staff departments, oversees the SPB budget, and trains members in leadership and programming. Handles communications and contracts for SPB events.
* Manages the recruitment, hiring, onboarding/training, supervision, evaluations, and timecard approval of SBP student workers. Maintains student employment budget for SPB employees.
* Advises all Fraternity and Sorority Life chapters on policies and procedures. Organizes Prospective New Member Orientation each semester and ensures all prospective and active members are educated in risk and compliance issues. Collaborates with the Center for Service-Learning and Volunteerism on service-related policies. Coordinates Greek Week and the Order of Omega Honor Society.
* Develops and implements co-curricular activities to enhance student learning in leadership, wellness, multicultural awareness, and programming, fostering self-understanding and growth through community partnerships.
* Oversees the programmatic efforts for all CSI event collaborations, such as but not limited to Founder's Week and Spirit Week.
* Assists with effective budget management for specific programs and areas of responsibility.
* Assesses and evaluates programs and services of functional areas.
* Serves as a student conduct officer for Student Affairs as requested.
* Maintains web page and social media content for areas of responsibility.
* Assists in planning, coordinating, and implementing Lake Day Orientation and Camp Blue Nation.
* Assists in supporting members and advisors of recognized and charted student organizations.
Additional Responsibilities:
* Participates in University and Student Affairs Division programs and activities as requested and assigned.
* Develops and fosters collaborative relationships with faculty, key university departments, and students in support of a vibrant and energetic campus community.
* Serves on University and Student Affairs committees as assigned.
* Maintains an environment congruent with the University mission and identity, and the Student Affairs mission.
* Observes safety and risk management measures appropriate to work performed and programs supervised.
* Serves as an application reviewer for the Caritas Emergency Fund program.
* Performs other duties as assigned by the CSI Director, AVP of Student Affairs, or VP of Student Affairs
Requirements:
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
* Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal skills.
* Knowledge or the ability to learn and implement student development theories and marketing strategies.
* Knowledge or the ability to learn MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint), Teams, Zoom, or similar online/virtual meeting platforms.
* Must have high ethical standards and a strong sense of confidentiality.
* Must have the ability to prioritize and manage multiple deadlines; thrive in a complex work environment; display solid problem solving and interpersonal skills; works well independently and as part of a team.
* Must demonstrate leadership ability and a commitment to collaborative work within a diverse and dynamic community. They should also possess effective communication skills to engage with students, faculty, administrators, staff, and parents.
* Must have a high attention to detail and be able to organize workflow, coordinate activities, balance simultaneous projects without loss of efficiency in a multi-tasked environment and manage multiple priorities to meet deadlines; ability to manage, follow-up, work in collaboration and finalize projects, crisis situations and other issue that may arise.
* Sensitivity to and acceptance of personal and cultural differences and the ability to relate well with persons of diverse cultural and ethnic backgrounds.
* Ability to travel and work flexible hours, including weekends and evening hours.
* Ability to lift at least 20 pounds, set-up for major events, and quickly respond to situations happening during events.
Education and Experience:
* Bachelor's degree required; master's degree preferred.
* Two years of work experience in student activities, student organizations, Greek Life, leadership development training, student/university center or student union, or residence life required. (A master's degree may substitute one year of experience.)
* Possession of a valid U.S. driver's license and own mode of reliable transportation in order to prepare for events required.
