We are seeking a dynamic and creative individual to join our team as a Coordinator, Jewish Experiences. The Coordinator, Jewish Experiences provides program support for the department of Jewish Experiences at The J. This includes completing administrative and logistical tasks, assisting in planning and implementing programming for all generations of the Kansas City Jewish community. Programming and events are designed to engage Jewish community through adult education, Israel programming, holiday celebrations and more. This key member of the Jewish Experiences team will help foster deep community connections through community engagement, creative programming and departmental support.Essential Functions
- Support the development of a variety of innovative high-quality programs for people of all generations in the Jewish community
- Assist in creating Jewish educational and cultural opportunities for J staff and community partners
- Assist with events, recruitment, communications and logistical support for all Jewish experiences programming
- Develop a volunteer engagement plan for Jewish Experiences programs and events
- Provide quality administrative and departmental support to Jewish Experiences team
Schedule
- Full-time, 40 hours/week
- M-F days, but does include some evenings and weekends (Shabbat-Observant Friendly)
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience with program management
- Outstanding interpersonal, and leadership skills
- Excellent communication skills (verbal and written) and strong organizational skills
- Comfortable working with technology and seeking new technology to help achieve goals
- Knowledge of local Jewish community beneficial
- Working knowledge of Jewish values and traditions
- Demonstrates a passion for Jewish living and learning with an entrepreneurial spirit
- Must be able to work nights and weekends as needed
Physical Requirements
- Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer
- Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times and move about the office to complete daily tasks
- Must be able to travel around the community for off-site meetings/appointments as needed
