The successful candidate will be responsible for coordinating maintenance activities, ensuring the reliability and efficiency of mining equipment, and leading a team of maintenance professionals to support continuous operation and productivity.Job ResponsibilitiesReporting to the Mine Manager, the Coordinator-Mine Maintenance will be responsible for the following:
  • Supervise and assist in the mine maintenance of the operations maintenance facility and mining equipment.
  • Managing the analysis of maintenance problems and oversees the coordination of schedules to maximize equipment availability and performance
  • Plan maintenance jobs including procurement of necessary parts, equipment, and tools
  • Oversee and manage the development and execution of predictive and preventative maintenance programs
  • Lead self-directed maintenance team to ensure engagement, productivity and performance; coach, train, motivate, communicate and drive continuous improvement
  • Organize and track work/equipment history to optimize equipment maintenance planning
  • Evaluate and adjust required warehousing of equipment spare parts with maintenance needs
  • Recommend and organize planned shutdown jobs
  • Seek opportunities for continuous improvement of equipment reliability
  • Responsible for monitoring, promoting and administering the safety programs and policies to ensure a safe work environment
  • Self-starter yet able to take orders as directed
  • Perform installation and maintenance work as part of a team of skilled trades workers as needed.
Skills and Qualifications
  • At least 10 years' maintenance supervisory experience in large mining/manufacturing company, preferably heavy industry
  • Proven experience in mine maintenance management or coordination, with a strong understanding of mining equipment and processes.
  • Strong leadership skills, with experience in supervising and developing maintenance teams.
  • Excellent organizational and coordination skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and projects effectively.
  • Solid understanding of safety regulations and best practices in mining maintenance.
  • Proficiency in maintenance management software and tools.
Education
  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Mining Engineering or Associates Degree or Diploma in Industrial Maintenance, Mine Technology, or Mechanical Technology (or equivalent experience).
Physical Requirements
  • This position is a mixture of field work and office duties. Field work will be conducted daily throughout the year so exposure to the elements (rain, snow, cold, heat, etc) is to be expected. The office duties will require work in front of a laptop, desk, and phone.
