Primary Purpose:
Perform general accounting work relating to the preparation, administration, and control of the district financial resources.
Qualifications:
Education/Certification:
* Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance-related field
Special Knowledge/Skills:
* Knowledge of governmental accounting and auditing principles established by the Governmental Accounting System Board (GASB)
* Ability to analyze and interpret financial data
* Ability to analyze and evaluate accounting problems, develop data, and recommend improved procedures
* Knowledge of computerized accounting systems
* Ability to use personal computer and software to develop complex accounting reports, spreadsheets, and databases
* Ability to work with numbers in an accurate and rapid manner
* Effective communication and interpersonal skills
Experience:
* Five years accounting experience at a high level of responsibility
Major Responsibilities and Duties:
Accounting:
* Maintain the general ledger for all funds, prepare journal entries, approve budget transfers.
* Classify, record, and summarize numerical and financial data to compile and keep financial records using journals and ledgers or computer.
* Assist in preparing, entering, and recording disbursement of district funds.
* Maintain grant expenditure reports and process the drawdown of funds for reimbursements for all grants to be approved by CFO online.
* Maintain banking relationships for all accounts and submit banking activity online to be approved by CFO.
* Maintain relationships for MAC and SHARS, prepare documents to be approved by CFO and then submit necessary reports online.
* Reconcile records of bank transactions.
* Set up and maintain account controls, logs, and files.
* Debit, credit, and total accounts on computer spreadsheets and databases using specialized accounting software.
* Work directly with external auditors during annual and/or unscheduled special-purpose audits.
Administration:
* Work with administrators, principals, directors, and staff regarding budget and accounting issues.
* Work with purchasing to implement new travel guidelines and processes to improve District procedures and customer service.
* Assist in establishing improved procedures for payments to vendors.
Records and Reports:
* Record, store, and analyze information using accounting software.
* Compile, maintain, and file all physical and computerized reports, records, and other documents required, including auditable records and financial statements.
Other:
* Maintain confidentiality.
* Performs any and all duties as assigned.
* Successfully advances district initiatives.

Salary:
Minimum salary: $75,814 - 226 days calendar (Salary will be adjusted to your start date)
Salary determination will be based on verified relevant work experience.
