Job Description: General Statement of Duties: Mount Wachusett Community College (MWCC) is seeking a creative and enthusiastic individual to join our dynamic marketing team. Our team is driven by our constant aspiration to learn, our desire to keep pushing the creative envelope forward and share the message of the transformative power of education with future and current students and community members. This position currently allows for hybrid scheduling, and is periodically re-assessed based on college operational needs. The Graphic Design Coordinator serves as the brand and design champion for the College, developing and executing creative communication projects to support the College's recruitment and retention operations, marketing objectives and auxiliary operations. They will be responsible for developing and managing the College's visual image in line with industry and consumer trends and through a diversity, equity and inclusion lens. The Graphic Design Coordinator will manage the production of marketing materials using innovative approaches in support of the department's communications initiatives. This position works in concert with the web manager in visual development to ensure brand consistency and accuracy, ensures compliance with required standards, and provides training to faculty and staff on the College's brand and the use of various platforms. In addition to possessing a high level of creativity, the successful candidate will demonstrate strong interpersonal skills, a commitment to creative problem solving, an ability to manage time and multiple projects under tight deadlines, and a strong eagerness to strengthen the College's brand across changing traditional and digital channels. Responsibilities:
  • Designs, develops and updates College's and/or department printed and/or digital materials
  • Implement a quality, consistent brand, image, and style in college publications and advertising. Maintains and upholds College's branding guidelines.
  • Supports the department in the reinforcement of branding for the college and beyond.
  • Designs and produces custom animation and motion graphics for web and video.
  • Acts as the college's photographer at events both on and off campus for use in various mediums.
  • Develops and manages strong, engaging, designs for social media channels.
  • Creates valuable, relevant designs to recruit prospective and retain current students.
  • Collaborate and coordinate with web manager to ensure integrated branding and visual messaging on the College's website.
  • Supports digital channels with video content for internal and external promotional as requested.
  • Assists the Assistant Director of Public Relations and Communications managing social media content, digital presence, and digital advertising as needed.
  • Communicates with faculty and staff to determine and define visual communications needs.
  • Create, schedule and maintain the College's digital signage.
  • Contributes to the maintenance of the College's digital asset management system.
  • Manages all project files using the department's filing system.
  • Manage production with college Print Shop, Mailroom, and outside vendors as required.
  • Assists in the management and training of the College's internal graphic software system.
  • Provides and completes project status updates through department's online project management software.
  • Assist with market research including conducting surveys and focus groups, as needed.
  • Maintain up-to date/current knowledge in the latest computer graphic design software.
  • Attend on-campus events as needed.
  • Serve on marketing team to develop marketing concepts.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

  • Bachelor's degree in Fine Arts, Graphic Arts, or closely related field;
  • Three (3) years experience and/or training that includes graphic design and computer graphics program operations; or
  • An equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.

Additional Information: Campus Title: Graphic Design Coordinator Salary: $52,686.00-$89,802.00 **** Actual Salary determined by education, experience, and any applicable grant limitations per the collective bargaining agreement. Applicants should be aware it is unlikely the salary will be at or near the top of the range.
