Position DetailsClassification Information UnitJob StatusFLSAPosition Information Position Title Coordinator of EVENING & WEEKEND SERVICES Reports To Director Faculty Discipline N/A - Not Applicable Faculty is eligible for Tenure Track?Funding Source Functions and Responsibilities Job Summary Under the supervision of the Dean of Student Affairs or designee, the coordinator - Evening and Weekend Services is responsible for the overall operation of the Evening & Weekend Services office and the coordination of all evening and weekend student events, activities, and services. Supervisory Role Oral and written instructions are received from the Dean of Student Affairs or designee. The coordinator- Evening & Weekend Services may supervise support staff and student workers. Duties & Responsibilities 1. Must work evenings and weekends. 2. Plan and implement programs and activities for evening and weekend students. 3. Monitor evening & weekend classroom activities and provide daily reports. 4. Assist with the advisement/registration process. 5. Collaborate with divisional evening representatives to deliver student support services and provide general assistance where needed. 6. Submit weekly reports and make recommendations on process improvement. 7. Maintain communication with college administrators, faculty and staff, through personal contact and routine reports regarding evening activities in their respective departments/divisions. 8. Coordinate with Student Life to develop activities and programs for evening and weekend students on the Main and West Essex campuses. 9. Publish one e-newsletter no later than Week Two of the Fall and Spring semesters to inform the college community of evening & weekend events scheduled for the term. 10. Develop and disseminate bulletins regularly to provide evening and weekend students and faculty with pertinent information regarding services such as departmental counseling, faculty office hours, tutoring, tuition payment policies, withdrawal procedures, special activities/events, food pantry and other pertinent information. 11. Organize, in collaboration with other departments, special orientation sessions, motivational/awareness seminars, and other related activities for evening students. 12. Assist students with the establishment of clubs and organizations that would encourage more active participation in college life programs. 13. Maintain strict confidentiality and security of student and staff records. 14. Prepare routine reports as required.   • Bachelor's degree.
  • Experience in a college setting.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of college administration, policies and procedures, preferably at the community college level.
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively with diverse academic, staff and student populations as well as external constituents.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to communicate effectively, orally and in writing.
  • Ability to work evenings and weekends in a multi-cultural environment.
  • Education Requirements Bachelor's Degree Licenses and Certifications (including e.g., CPR, first aid, driver's license, etc.)Preferred Qualifications Experience (number of years), Knowledge and/or Abilities
  • Master's degree in a related area.
  • Two or more years of experience in a college setting.
  • Teaching experience at the college level.
  • Education Requirements Master's Degree Licenses and Certifications (including e.g., CPR, first aid, driver's license, etc.)
