POSITION PURPOSE:
The Coordinator of Instructional Technology reports to the Executive Dean of Academic Studies and works with IT, the Instructional Designer, and the Online Learning Committee to ensure that faculty and students have a smooth and positive experience with Canvas, Navarro College's Learning Management System, and other online learning programs. Working with faculty, IT, and the Instructional Designer, the Coordinator will lead the College's initiative to ensure compliance with Federal ADA/Accessibility requirements in the online learning environment. The Coordinator will work with stakeholders to ensure the quality and accessibility of online educational offerings, ultimately supporting the college's mission, vision, and values.
GENERAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
* Advise and inform the Executive Dean of Academic Studies of matters related to educational technology and online learning.
* Assist in ensuring Educational Technology & Online Learning complies with accrediting and regulatory requirements.
* Work with faculty, IT, the Instructional Designer, and other stakeholders to ensure Navarro College compliance with Federal ADA/Accessibility requirements, particularly regarding Canvas, Navarro College's Learning Management System.
* Coordinate with Instructional Designer to research online instructional resources and provide faculty with appropriate information and training to continuously advance the online learning experience.
* Coordinate with Instructional Designer to support faculty, as requested, in developing and revising online course materials.
* Research and apply, as appropriate, processes that involve AI in instruction, online support services, and curriculum-based or curriculum-adjacent software.
* Work with IT and the Online Learning Committee to ensure the institutional Canvas Course template is implemented and/or updated no later than May 1st for Fall classes and October 1st for Spring classes.
* Work with IT to ensure that all faculty have access to Canvas course shells no later than July 1st for Fall classes, November 1st for Spring classes, and April 1st for Summer classes.
* Work with IT to ensure that the syllabus course template is provided to department chairs no later than June 1st for Fall classes, October 1st for Spring classes, and March 1st Summer classes.
* Work with department chairs to ensure that all faculty have access to course syllabus by July 1st for Fall classes, November 1st for Spring classes, and April 1st for Summer classes.
* Work with Deans, Directors, department chairs, and faculty to ensure that all syllabi are available to students and the public no later than two weeks prior to the start of the semester.
* Work with IT to ensure that all courses are populated correctly and are available to students on the first day of class.
* Coordinate with appropriate Deans and Directors to equip, maintain, and schedule the Navarro College Interactive Video (ITV) program.
* Manage user permissions in Canvas and other institutional academic programs.
* Serve as the Navarro College Canvas expert and assist Deans, Directors, faculty, and students with Canvas related technical issues.
* Respond to student inquiries and assist students with technical issues related to online learning and student success.
* Provide students with strategies for being successful in online classes.
* Complete the program review for Educational Technology & Online Learning.
* Serve as the institutional contact for NC-SARA and Digitex.
* Assist faculty with technical issues related to teaching and learning.
* Submit budget needs to Executive Dean of Academic Studies.

POSITION QUALIFICATIONS:
Required:
* Bachelor's degree in Instructional Technology or related field.
Preferred:
* Master's degree in Instructional Technology or related field.
* Two years of experience working in secondary or higher education in instructional design, online learning, or related field.
* Experience with online learning.
* Experience using a Learning Management System, Canvas preferred.
WORKING CONDITIONS:
* Variances from regular working hours may be necessary to fulfill the responsibilities of the position.
* Busy working environment with numerous interruptions.
SALARY: Commensurate with Education and Experience (This is a 12 month position to be paid over 12 months)
