PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: Master's degree in an area related to international education or a language. As the first contact for most of our international students, the coordinator will have to present a positive first impression of our university and will have to work with international applicants and their parents, will have to interact with international recruiters and recruiting agencies, as well as having to represent the university at state, regional and even national meetings and conferences. This position will be required to have a broad knowledge of the university programs and offerings and in that regard will have to work with the various departments and colleges in order to be able to present accurate information to inquiring students.Physical RequirementsWorking Conditions The Coordinator of International Admission and Recruitment works with a minimum level of supervision. The position will often involve a highly stressful environment. The person holding this position must become familiar with all aspects of the campus community and much have the ability to make independent decisions but yet know when supervisory assistance is required. Decisions may be related to more complex matters within established policy and procedures and the decisions made by this position will affect the work of others in other departments. The effects of errors in judgment can be detrimental to students, and damage the reputation of the University, especially in the area of student enrollment and financial aid. The Coordinator of International Admission and Recruitment may be expected to travel extensively and work irregular hours, including evenings and weekends.
