UNCW has been part of the University of North Carolina System since 1969.Location of Workplace Main UNCW CampusBrief Summary of Work for this Position The Coordinator for Leadership Development reports to the Assistant Director for Leadership Development in the Student Involvement and Leadership unit within Campus Life. The postion works with the Assistant Director of Leadership Development in creating the leadership development vision for UNCW students. The coordinator supervises a graduate assistant and a team of undergraduate student leadership educators who plan leadership development programs and facilitate workshops and small groups for peers. The position plans and executes leadership development programs grounded in leadership theories and philosophies to include but not limited to: Emotionally Intelligent Leadership, Student Leadership Challenge, CliftonStrengths, and Social Change Model. Additionally, the coordinator collaborates with campus partners across the Division of Student Affairs to facilitate workshops for classrooms, student employee trainings, and student organization groups.Minimum Education and Experience Requirements Bachelor's degree; or equivalent combination of training and experience. All degrees must be received from appropriately accredited institutions.Preferred education, professional skills and experience
  • A Master's Degree in Higher Education Administration, Student Personnel, Organizational Leadership, or related field
  • Experience advising or supervising undergraduate students.
  • Experience in program planning, evaluation, and implementation skills.
  • Knowledge of leadership theory, models, and philosophies.
  • One to three years of experience planning and developing programs in a higher education or related setting.
  • Interpersonal and communication skills, strong organizational skills, and the ability to manage multiple priorities.
  • Experience creating programs based on leadership theory, models, and philosophies.
  • Experience developing workshop and presentation content and facilitating small group discussion.
